Zhang Fan had an enjoyable time eating the expensive Russian coldwater fish banquet. Although he also had to listen to some awkward flattery from a few of the other doctors, he didn’t really care, as those doctors didn’t have much to do with him. Since Li Hui’s face and liver both hurt, he didn’t say a single word during the meal.

As Zhang Fan drove Li Hui home, he no longer said anything to taunt Li Hui. Since it was only them now, he was afraid that Li Hui would fly into a rage!

For the three-day vacation from the hospital, the second day was a Saturday. Zhang Fan had already arranged a date with Shao Hua. She told Zhang Fan that she would be okay with going out on dates and getting to know each other better, but only if she was allowed to take turns with him paying for meals together.

Zhang Fan had no objections to this, as he was quite happy already that she agreed to go out on a date with him. Shao Hua told Zhang Fan that he didn’t have to drive. They just had a simple meal together followed by a walk around a park. The two of them were slowly spending more time together and getting to know each other better.

Later that day, Zhang Fan received a call from his hired handymen that they had finished renovating the bathroom in his new house. The work seemed to be quite good, or at least, Zhang Fan was unable to find any problems. After happily paying the handymen, Zhang Fan then went to the store to purchase kitchen utensils.

He used this as an excuse to call out Shao Hua yet again, asking her to help him pick kitchen utensils. They spent the rest of the day running between various stores, comparing brands and prices. Shao Hua was quite tired by the end. Zhang Fan immediately took Shao Hua home with his car after they had dinner together. She was so tired that she even fell asleep in his car on the way.

At Chasu City Hospital, the dermatology department was actually in charge of both dermatology and burn injuries. The department director was a female doctor named Gulnazar. She was renowned for being a doctor skilled at helping patients recover from burn injuries. The dermatology department was a small department, with only four doctors in total. Director Gulnazar didn’t have fixed work shifts. When Zhang Fan arrived in the dermatology department, the other doctors were overjoyed because he had a medical license. This meant that he could work night shifts by himself. The few doctors here originally had to work night shifts every other day, which was really exhausting for them.

For Zhang Fan’s day shifts, he worked directly under Director Gulnazar. For his night shifts, he was allowed to work alone. Work in the dermatology department could be described as both easy and difficult. There were more than 3,000 basic types of skin diseases. You would have to memorize all 3000+ of these in order to become a master dermatologist. Most skin problems could be diagnosed with the naked eye, while those which couldn’t could only be diagnosed through skin tests, as the naked eye wouldn’t be of any help.

However, this was only basic dermatology. Understanding more would be quite difficult, with topics such as immunology, biochemistry, genetics, cells, and so on involved. It would be impossible for most ordinary people!

There was an advantage to the dermatology department being small. The few doctors here had quite a friendly relationship with each other. They all helped each other out, just as if they were family. They had been coworkers for more than a decade already, and it even arrived at the point where they would miss each other if they didn’t see each other for a long period of time, just like family would.

This was different from bigger hospital departments, where there was plenty of backstabbing and scheming due to competition over benefits and resources.

Director Gulnazar was out most of the time, receiving patients at her clinic. The other three doctors took the work shifts in regular turns.

On his first day here, Zhang Fan was unable to even diagnose a skin problem as simple as acne. Dermatology was rather specialized, so this department was different from other departments, where Zhang Fan could learn more general knowledge. However, he didn’t want to waste his rotation here, so he started learning.

If he wanted to understand dermatology, he would have to study. On his first day, Zhang Fan studied everything he could about dermatology, starting at seven a.m. and not finishing until three in the morning. He only stopped once to eat lunch, and didn’t even eat dinner.

Zhang Fan was so fatigued that he didn’t even feel hungry. He instantly fell asleep without even washing up. He had spent the entire day trying to understand and memorize. There were far too many pictures of skin diseases in the textbook for him to remember. Not only that, there were so many skin diseases which would look similar to each other. He would easily misremember things if he didn’t actively learn as he memorized!

Even his dreams were about prominent and plate-shaped papules, along with psoriasis. He woke up and found that he was drenched in sweat. He was overworking his brain.

Work in the dermatology department was relatively easy compared to other departments. This was because Chasu City wasn’t highly industrialized, so very few patients would arrive with major burn injuries. More common would be patients who had accidentally scalded themselves with boiling water. Thus, there weren’t many patients staying in this department, and they also had relatively few emergency surgeries to perform.

Only after one week passed did Zhang Fan gain a slightly better understanding of dermatology. The pictures of skin diseases in the textbooks would only be the most classical examples of the disease. However, not all patients’ problems would exactly match the textbook pictures in real life. You would still need to be able to diagnose correctly through experience in being able to tell similar-looking skin diseases apart.

Since Zhang Fan had a lot of free time in the dermatology department, he invited Shao Hua out quite often on dates. One time, they even ran into Jia Suyue coincidentally while outside. She looked at Zhang Fan with a condescending expression that seemed to say, “You dare to romantically pursue my friend Shao Hua?” Jia Suyue felt that love was something that should be deeply romantic, and that her boyfriend should be a prince on a white horse!

Shao Hua had been quite open, and told Jia Suyue long ago that she was going to allow Zhang Fan to try and romantically pursue her. Jia Suyue no longer tried to intentionally antagonize Zhang Fan anymore out of consideration for her good friend Shao Hua. The three of them were even able to eat a meal peacefully together.

It was now Friday, almost the weekend again. Zhang Fan arranged with Shao Hua to eat hot pot together after his work shift. His house’s kitchen renovation had been finished, and he already invited Shao Hua before to look at his kitchen. Shao Hua had good taste, and picked out many kitchen utensils and appliances which were practical yet also beautiful for his kitchen. Thus, Zhang Fan used the excuse of thanking her to invite her for a hot pot. Currently, the two of them were slightly more than friends. Shao Hua would also chat with Zhang Fan about whatever aggrievances she had at work.

Just as Zhang Fan and Director Gulnazar were about to finish their work shift for today, a female patient who appeared to be in her early 20s arrived at their department. This patient was beautiful, incredibly beautiful! She had fair white skin, large eyes, a high nose bridge, and sexy lips, and was slender and curvaceous. She was wearing a suit with a black pleated skirt, light purple stockings, and black low heels.

She was so beautiful! Director Gulnazar was rather chubby and tall, and seemed just like a man in comparison to this beautiful woman. Zhang Fan couldn’t help but take a few extra looks.

Although Director Gulnazar was tall and chubby, she had a really nice personality. Otherwise, it wouldn’t have been possible for her dermatology department to have such a warm and family-like atmosphere.

“What’s the matter? Can we help you with anything?” Director Gulnazar was in a hurry to get off her work shift and go home. The beautiful woman just stood there for quite a while without saying anything, so Director Gulnazar spoke first.

“Yeah,” the beautiful woman spoke in a low voice.

  “Where are you feeling unwell?”

The beautiful woman didn’t say anything, but she glanced over at Zhang Fan.

“Oh! An inconvenient place.” Director Gulnazar instantly understood. She then said, “Don’t worry, there’s no men or women here. There’s only doctors and patients. Just say where you’re feeling uncomfortable. There’s nothing to worry about.”

There was no helping it, so the beautiful woman got up, closed the door to the dermatology department, sat down again, and said, “There’s something growing on me down there that’s really uncomfortable. Please take a look for me and tell me how to treat it.”

“Alright. There’s a patient room here with a curtain that you can change behind. Go ahead and take off your pants and underwear. We’ll be there in a minute.” Director Gulnazar then prepared herself by putting on her surgical mask, cap, and gloves. Many skin diseases were infectious, so it would be important for a dermatologist to protect themselves.

Zhang Fan didn’t move, as he felt quite awkward. While he had seen many naked female patients before, they had always been under anesthesia, already prepared for surgery. This was the first time that he would be seeing a naked female patient who was still awake, which was too awkward for him. He also didn’t want to make the beautiful woman feel awkward.

However, Director Gulnazar wouldn’t agree to let Zhang Fan sit this one out. “Doctor Zhang, we doctors are like the patients’ parents. There is no matter if we’re male or female.” Director Gulnazar spoke strangely accented Chinese as she was a Uighur Muslim. However, her words were absolutely correct.

Zhang Fan thus also put on his medical clothing to protect against infection and followed Director Gulnazar into the patient room to check the patient’s condition. The moment that he saw the naked female patient waiting inside, he felt absolutely zero excitement or lust, but rather terror and disgust that made him want to run away as quickly as possible.

The beautiful woman was on the patient examining table with her butt raised and legs slightly spread apart. She had removed all of her lower body clothing already and placed it in a small pile by her black low heels. Her snow-white, long, and slender legs were covered densely with flesh-colored warts. These warts weren’t large, about the size of three matchstick tips on average, but what was scary was how many there were, in a ridiculously dense manner on the beautiful woman’s legs.

Not only would someone with trypophobia be terrified, even Zhang Fan was really disgusted. Director Gulnazar was instantly able to identify the patient’s problem. She pointed at the patient’s warts and told Zhang Fan, “Doctor Zhang, touch that area through your gloves. This way, you will never forget about this disease again in your life. Go!”

‘I feel like a demon is calling out to me!’ Zhang Fan did his best to refrain from throwing up the noodles he had for lunch, as he staggered over towards the patient.
