Zhao Anan was not dumb. She knew that those people who were picking on her were not concerned with her looks. What was more, she did not find herself that attractive, either.

“Bah, I know everything! They gossiped about me behind my back, saying that I am the mistress of some rich guy. Damn those blind people! Just because they are people’s mistresses, they think that I am one too? My cousin is capable of everything and they do not have one someone like him on their side. They are just jealous. They are so terrible professionally and are still doing well in the office. Of course they are using some other ways to stay in their positions. Shame on them!”

“They like picking on me, so I will make sure they can’t find any fault in me. Those old women keep gossiping about me not looking like a principal. So I want to show them that I can wear skirts and high-heels too. I will prove it to them that I can!”

Shangguan Ning finally understood that Zhao Anan had been stimulated.

They shared the same point of view on this. Both of them hated trouble and liked to keep things simple.

Zhao Anan must have gotten so annoyed by those pestering words that she decided to put on high-heels and skirts to shut them up, once and for all.

She was the Principal of University of X, and by that virtue, almost a public figure in A City. There were many people’s eyes on her now. Not everyone knew or understood who the real Zhao Anan was.

Some might provoke her to see what Zhao Anan’s supporters would do, so that they could find out who was behind Zhao Anan.

In their eyes, she must have a very powerful supporter because of which she became the principal before even turning 30, making the previous Principal Min forced to retire without a word of complaint.

Zhao Anan had been fired once by the University of X, and that was supposed to be the biggest stain in a principal’s career. But even with such a big black mark, she was still able to return to the school as the principal. In their eyes, she must have formed all kinds of connections in A City.

Chief Wang of the Education Bureau was very friendly towards her, and regarded her as his peer. He did not show any arrogance towards her and often invited her to his home for dinner.

Chief Wang had always been an honest and just man, and lived happily with his wife and a child. Had it not been because of that fact, people might have suspected that he had some ill intention towards Zhao Anan.

The other three universities in the city were inferior to University of X. Irrespective, Chief Wang had never displayed such a friendly attitude towards any principal in any of the schools, including the elementary school, or any of the high schools.

When Principal Min was holding the position, Chief Wang used to greet him only with a nod. He had never used a friendly tone with him as he did with Zhao Anan.

But people did not realise all of this and kept picking on her. Only a few of them understood that something was going on and were cautious.

Zhao Anan was not good at dealing with people, but she was no longer as impulsive as before. Since she had decided to become a qualified principal, she would behave rationally and display maturity.

Zhao Anan did not care much about Chief Wang, and had no intentions to visit his home for dinner.

Zhao Anan looked at her skirt sadly and then at the high heels. She groaned. “Those people are too annoying. I need my pants and sneakers, I really do!”

On formal occasions, women tended to dress up in formal suits and pants were considered to be casual. All first ladies, wives of the presidents in any country would only be wearing skirts or dresses during their formal visits.

Zhao Anan might not be a first lady, but she was a principal and wearing pants would not make her look formal or serious.

Sneakers would not work either, even flat-heels would not be proper. When dressed professionally, she needed a pair of high-heels to make her look powerful.

Shangguan Ning consoled her with a smile. “You can wear whatever you want when you are off work. Also, the summer break is coming soon and you can relax then.”

That was the good point about educational professionals. They had the luxury of long holidays. Zhao Anan finally became a bit happy. “True! I have been working so hard that I forgot that I have a long break coming up. Haha, great! I am the principal, so I can make the holiday term longer. What about three months?”

Honestly…… had it really been a good idea to make Zhao Anan the principal?

If she made summer holiday last three months and winter holiday equally long, then there would be fewer than 100 days left for classes after excluding weekends and other holidays. The students would definitely like it but the parents would not agree.

But in Zhao Anan’s opinion, holidays were too short, so she sighed. “What if the holiday and the work periods are switched, or make it one month of work and one month of holiday? Who on earth has made the current rules? They are ruining the future of the country.”

“Principal Zhao, you are going over the top now. One month of holiday is already long enough, stop dreaming. It’s time to wake up.”

Shangguan Ning was nearly speechless. This woman was such a carefree principal!

Zhao Anan woke up from her beautiful dream, complained a little about her work and how much she had to learn at the moment. She also complained that her cousin had set her up and then she remembered that she must ask Shangguan Ning about the recent occurings.

“What happened to you? You look so weak and pale just now……”

She approached Shangguan Ning and asked in a low and flirty voice. “Can it be because my cousin doesn’t want to stop doing that with you? If something is wrong with his kidney. He can try some Chinese medicine, how does that sound?”

What was she talking about? Such shameless words!

Shangguan Ning laughed in annoyance and pinched her ears. “Stop thinking about

dirty things. You are a principal now!”

Zhao Anan cried loudly. “Oh no, stop, my sister-in-law, my ears are rare and if you break one off, I will have only one left. Have mercy on me!”

But her cries had drawn the real ‘wolf’ towards them.

Jing Yichen opened the door and saw Zhao Anan had draped herself over Shangguan Ning’s thigh. He frowned and snapped. “Jing Rui has just fallen asleep, another loud noise and you will be tossed out of here. Also, your clothes are not clean. Stay away from Ning. She is too weak right now.”
