Jing Yichen patted his son’s little bottom gently and said with displeasure, “You have just been fed by me but now you are deserting me for your mother. I will not feed you any more!”

Shangguan Ning chuckled. She wanted to hold her son, but as the strength ran out of her, she feared that she would drop Jing Rui. So in a small guilty voice, she said, “Ruirui, I will hold you when I am well.”

Post that, she lowered her head to kiss his cute little face. He stopped making noises and smiled at her, looking very happy to be kissed by his mother.

Seeing his smiling eyes that had turned into a moon, she felt her heart soften.

Her son was very obedient and understanding. He was going to be a very wonderful kid in future.

Jing Yichen kissed her smooth forehead and brought his free arm around her. He asked her in a low voice, “Feeling better? Hungry? Want to eat something?”

Shangguan Ning leaned her head against his broad shoulder and said in a low voice, “I am not feeling well and don’t feel like eating anything.”

Her tone sounded spoilt as if she were a little girl who was asking for pampering from an adult.

With his wife in one arm and son in the other, Jing Yichen found his life to be complete. He indulged her by saying, “You have to eat even if you don’t want to. Grandpa Mu said that you need to take in enough nutrients. That is how you recover. Old Du is on the 6th floor. I will ask him to come up to make some dishes for you. Eat whatever you like, please.”

Shangguan Ning was not in the mood to eat anything, but seeing Jing Yichen take care of her so carefully, she did not protest and nodded. “Okay.”

After exchanging a few words, Shangguan Ning lost the strength again. Refusing to be supported by Jing Yichen, she went to the bathroom alone.

When she finished washing herself up, she saw Jing Yichen sitting on the sofa, feeding Jing Rui again.

As the morning sun seeped through the window and landed on these two men, they looked as if having been plated with a layer of gold. It was a cozy and relaxing moment. She hoped that their life would be like this henceforth.

Shangguan Ning had never expected that Jing Yichen would be so capable in taking care of children or feeding them.

He was a cold person who never showed a gentle face to anyone else apart from her. He never uttered an extra word or showed concern about others.

But as he was holding his son, he did not look anything but gentle.

Shangguan Ning smiled and realized that she had married a good man.

She got an idea and went into the bedroom to fetch the phone with which she took a picture of Jing Yichen feeding Jing Rui.

She was thinking that when Jing Rui grew up, she was going to show her son this picture, telling him how much his father loved him and how well he had taken care of him when he was a little boy.

Jing Yichen sensed that Shangguan Ning was taking a picture of him, so he smiled helplessly but did not stop her.

Shangguan Ning did not like taking pictures. She barely used cameras but she had picked up the habit of clicking pictures after Jing Rui was born.

She kept filming the way Jing Rui looked and behaved. She was recording his growing up time and the happy moments which the three of them shared together.

She often took pictures of him holding and playing with their son, and it was the first time for her to catch a moment when he was feeding him.

He patted his son gently and said in a teasing tone, “Son, your mother is snapping so many pictures of ours. She can work as paparazzi now, and can support us if we run out of money in the future.”

Jing Rui uttered a sound of agreement, making Jing Yichen burst into laughter.

After moving so much, Shangguan Ning had already started sweating. She had no strength to stand still any more. Despite the weak limbs though, she was feeling full of energy looking at her two boys.

She returned to the bedroom with a smile on the face and fell asleep again.

But soon, Jing Yichen woke her up to eat some food.

She stood up drowsily and saw Jing Rui curled in Jing Yichen’s arms, sucking his fingers and staring at her as if wondering if he should leave his father for her.

After some food, Shangguan Ning recovered a little bit, finally and held her son in her arms, whispering to him.

Pleased, Jing Rui kept expressing his pleasure by uttering weird sounds. His mother had no idea what he was saying and what was worse, his father soon took him away from her so he lost the chance of feeling his mother’s warm arms.

Seeing him trying to reach out for Shangguan Ning, Jing Yichen understood that he did not want to leave her. He said with a smile, “Alright, alright. Your mother is too weak right now to hold you. You are too well fed and have grown heavy. Time to sleep now, she can hold you when you wake up again.”

Jing Yichen was not great at getting Jing Rui to sleep. Normally, Jing Rui would play a little bit before falling asleep after he was fed by Shangguan Ning.

But now, he was not in Shangguan Ning’s arms.

Jing Yichen took Jing Rui to his room and paced back and forth inside. He was just a few months old, and needed a lot of sleep. If he did not feel like sleeping right now, he would hold Jing Rui and speak with him.

It was said that talking with a young baby could help build an emotional bridge, and the child could learn to talk sooner.

Actually, Jing Rui already uttered some sounds that resembled ‘mom’ or ‘dad’, because Shangguan Ning and Jing Yichen taught him every day. Of course, he was not really saying any specific words yet.

Jing Rui seemed to like hearing his father talk. Whenever he heard Jing Yichen’s nice voice, he would follow suit. When Jing Yichen told him to say ‘dad’, he would also say ‘dad’ or ‘mom’, although the words were not that clear.
