After the Chinese New Year, Shangguan Ning stopped going to office, altogether.

She was getting bigger and her calves and legs were getting swelled up, making it uncomfortable for her to walk too much.

Also, the computer, printer and fax machines give out radiation, so Jing Yichen had forbidden her to touch all of those, any more.

Most of the time, Lu kept her company by talking incessantly but sometimes, staying silent.

Shangguan Ning would take a walk every day. Since she didn’t have a mother to guide her, Zhao Zhao called her often and gave her helpful advice.

Zhao Anan was still missing, and Shangguan Ning was feeling uneasy about it.

But every time Zhao Zhao called, she would pretend that everything was fine and console Zhao Zhao at the same time.

Zheng Lun visited Shangguan Ning often and chit chatted with her.

Seeing Shangguan Ning’s bulging belly, she was full of envy.

On her every visit, Zheng Lun brought some gifts for the child. She was a warm person.

But every time she was here, Shangguan Ning couldn’t help but think of Zhao Anan, so did Zheng Lun.

Zheng Lun had also not been told that Zhao Anan might have been taken away, forcibly. All Zheng Jing told her was that Zhao Anan had gone into hiding to stay away from Mu Qing. So Zheng Lun was not that worried because she knew that as long as Zhao Anan got tired of having fun, she would return of her accord.

March passed quickly and soon it was April. Shangguan Ning was in her seventh month of pregnancy.

Jing Yichen accompanied Shangguan Ning for a pregnancy test at the hospital.

He was with her throughout the entire process rather than staying outside the examination room.

Mu Xin knew that the couple had an extraordinary relationship, so after she tried to stop them once and failed, she no longer tried to stop them.

The four-dimensional ultrasound examination clearly showed the baby inside the mother’s womb.

Whenever this moment came, Jing Yichen would be extremely attentive.

Mu Xin couldn’t help but burst into laughter when she saw the couple looking so nervous.

She had heard Mu Qing talking about Jing Yichen numerous times and as per her understanding, Jing Yichen should have been cold and lethal.

But from what she could see, he was just an ordinary husband and father-to-be who loved his wife and child dearly.

Mu Xin hadn’t objected to Mu Qing’s idea of giving up the hospital to look for Zhao Anan. But she didn’t support him fully, either.

Their grandpa had gotten extremely furious about her cousin and her cousin’s parents were even more furious. They felt that they had raised a boy in vain when he could abandon everything just for the sake of a woman.

Zhao Anan did know how to make trouble!

Mu Xin preferred a steady life just like Shangguan Ning and Jing Yichen in front of her. Living a steady life was what happiness meant.

Mu Xin liked Shangguan Ning very much. They had many similarities. Shangguan Ning never made trouble. Instead, she kept pursuing what she wanted with great intent.

She had accidentally noticed Jing Yichen massaging Shangguan Ning’s belly, so she said with a smile, “Shangguan, Master Jing, the boy is developing well and is very healthy. Also, maybe because Shangguan has drunk the medicinal wine, the boy has obviously turned out much healthier than his peers. He is definitely going to be a very strong boy.”

Mu Xin was an expert in this aspect. She had been the OB for numerous mothers and delivered many babies.

One glance at the color ultrasound, she would know how the baby was doing.

Shangguan Ning’s child was developing exceptionally well. She knew that her grandpa’s medicinal wine must have done its job. Even she had never tasted the wine ever.

The medicinal wine which grandpa made was mainly for reproduction of cells which enabled delaying of aging and increasing the immune system.

Shangguan Ning had been on the wine for half a year now and her physical system had improved tremendously. She had not caught even a cold after she got pregnant. But it was the baby in her belly that got the most benefits because the essence and the nutrients from the mother were mostly absorbed by the baby.

Both Shangguan Ning and Jing Yichen were delighted to hear what Mu Xin said.

Mu Xin hesitated for a while before saying, “Shangguan, because the baby is so well developed, my experience tells me that your due date might be a week or two in advance. If you experience pain in the stomach, don’t be nervous and come to the hospital right away. If you don’t mind living in the hospital for a while, you can come in one month before the due date.”

Shangguan Ning agreed with a smile as she massaged her belly. “Sure, I will move in to your hospital when the time comes. But you will have to take care of me.”

The child was their priority and Shangguan Ning didn’t object to living in the hospital for a while, if needed. The conditions at the hospital were very good and the doctors surrounding her gave her a sense of security.

Mu Xin let out a sigh of relief. She had been worried that Shangguan Ning would dislike the smell of disinfectants at the hospital or the sterilized atmosphere.

It seemed that Shangguan Ning could adjust to the environment and be more rational than she had assumed.

“That is not a problem.” Mu Xin said with a smile, “I like taking care of pregnant mothers. That is the greatest perk of my job. I want to give birth to a baby myself, right now!”

Amused, Shangguan Ning jabbed at her arms and said, “Then get one. If it is a girl, we can be in-laws!”

Mu Xin was in a good mood. When she saw a healthy fetus and an outgoing mother, she tended to get quite cheerful and said with a smile, “Then I need to work harder and get a clever girl, or your son would complain her of being dumb.”

Mu Xin was not being modest. She knew that Jing Yichen was extremely intelligent even more than Mu Qing, who was the most intelligent among the entire family in his generation. But whenever grandpa lectured him, he would quote Jing Yichen’s example.

Their generation were living under the “shadow” of Jing Yichen!

Although she and her husband were both doctors, and the top OB in the country, compared to a genius demon like Jing Yichen, they were yet far from their goal.

But Shangguan Ning’s words made Mu Xin think about having a baby. She preferred girls, and so did her husband.

Mu Xin thought that after she took a break from this busy period, she might be ready to get pregnant.
