"Okay," Lu Tianxin agreed. She was clearly displeased with the sudden turn of events today. She would need to make sure that their company's PR team would keep an eye out on the news for the ones that could tarnish Tang Moyu's reputation because of this commotion Xing Yiyue had started.

In fact, this was the first time she had met Xing Yiyue in person. However, it wasn't the same case for Feng Tianhua. She'd naturally met the man before, as he was betrothed to her cousin since they were younger. She occasionally saw him visiting Tang Moyu, trying to get closer to her, but it was futile.

Lu Tianxin had seen him trying to strike a conversation with Tang Moyu, but the empress had only given him a cold shoulder every time, like she did to everyone else. It wasn't like Tang Moyu disliked him, it was just that Tang Moyu had never felt the need to make friends with him, considering that she only agreed to marry him at her mother's insistence.

Quite ruthless on the empress's part, Lu Tianxin thought. But she knew that Tang Moyu was capable of love, regardless of what her mother had imposed on her person.

Ye Xiaozu also agreed, knowing that the longer Tang Moyu stayed with Feng Tianhua and Xing Yiyue here, the more gossip and rumors would circulate later.

However, Feng Tianhua thought otherwise. He could not let Tang Moyu leave just like that. Who knew when he would be able to get close to her like this again. He was aware that the empress didn't want to see him or talk to him, which was understandable, considering the severity of the pain he'd inflicted on her five years ago.

He should be the one who protected her back then, not the one to destroy her.

Feng Tianhua stopped Tang Moyu from leaving by holding her elbow as she tried to walk past them for the second time today.

"Moyu, tell me the truth. Tell me you didn't betray me back then." He asked her in a low voice. His tone hinted at despair, which Tang Moyu couldn't comprehend.

Why? Why was he asking this question now? Didn't he think that it was too late?

What could have changed if she told him she'd never betrayed him? Five years ago, he'd chosen to cut his ties with her and had tried to suppress the Tang family all these years. What was he trying to gain from all of this?

Wasn't it enough that he'd destroyed her life with his own hands? That he ruined her reputation in public by announcing that she was bearing a child out of wedlock in her w.o.m.b?

The empress had fallen hard and had lost everything, including her family. She hadn't forgotten all the nasty words he'd told her that fateful day. The harshness on his face, the disgust he'd seen in his eyes… everything was still clear in Tang Moyu's memory till this day.

It was so sickening to see Feng Tianhua pretend that he cared for her, that he was concerned about her. What had she done to him to deserve being treated like this? Tang Moyu thought she would never understand what Feng Tianhua was thinking.

"Did that day finally come, Feng Tianhua?" She asked with sarcasm. Her eyes caught the same cufflinks she had gifted to him several years ago.

He was still wearing it? Why? Tang Moyu thought that he would've already gotten rid of it out of anger. Yet five years later, Feng Tianhua was still wearing it.

Was it like the ring on her hand, a reminder of what she had lost because of a man?

"What?" Feng Tianhua furrowed his brows in confusion, not understanding what she meant. What was she talking about?

"Didn't I tell you that if the day finally comes and you've realized that you've wronged me…." Tang Moyu didn't need to continue as the slight widening of his eyes were already a giveaway that Feng Tianhua understood what she was talking about.

"You haven't forgotten, right?" Her eyes looked at him with such disgust that forced Feng Tianhua to release his hold on her elbow. He'd known Tang Moyu for a long time, but this was the first time that he saw her looking at him with any sort of emotion.

No… this wasn't the kind of attention he wanted to get from her. He finally managed to make her look at him, but unfortunately it was her ire instead of care and love.

Feng Tianhua's lips pressed into a thin line. If what Tang Moyu said earlier was true, then… He didn't like the implications of this revelation. He turned to look at his wife, whose face was as white as paper.

What else did Xing Yiyue hide from him? He wondered.

"Moyu, please. Don't you think we're old enough to let bygones be bygones?" He asked Tang Moyu. He knew he could not undo the things he'd done in the past and could only change the future.

"Heh." The empress smirked at him. "Eh? I didn't realize that you're an expert in my life and how I should live it." She crossed her arms over her c.h.e.s.t, giving him a mocking smile. "Please continue, I'll make mental notes to remind myself."

Lu Tianxin bit her inner cheeks to stop herself from laughing while Ye Xiaozu forced a cough into his hand, refusing to look at Feng Tianhua's face.

Damn, Tang Moyu surely didn't bother to sugarcoat her insults.

"M-Moyu…" Feng Tianhua was taken aback from her sharp, cold words. Was this what she used to feel when he berated her back then?

Tang Moyu had never talked back to him like this before. Was it really impossible for him to reach her heart?

"Oh, I'm sorry if you don't like my honesty, But to be fair, I don't like your lies either. So spare me, oh almighty god. I didn't know you had the authority on how I live my life. I warned you before, didn't I?"

Tang Moyu stepped forward, invading his space.

"Put a leash on your wife."
