After years of living overseas, she wasn't sure if she should be glad to come back to her home country without giving a hint to her own family that she was back. Had it been twelve years since she left to study abroad and never returned? Had it really been that long?

If it wasn't for Tang Moyu's request, Gu Yuyao would rather stay abroad, where her family wouldn't dare to bother her. She wondered how long it would take for the Gu family to discover that she was back and when would they send their minions to try to convince her to go home to Beijing.

Gu Yuyao made her way out of the Shenzhen Bao'an International Airport after going through immigration and being cleared from customs. She wondered if Tang Moyu would pick her up on time or would she need to hail a cab to go to the empress's place, the Peach Blossom Garden. With a soft sigh, she dragged her luggage with her.

Placing a pair of sunglasses to protect her eyes, Gu Yuyao ran her fingers through her messy, medium length bob cut auburn hair with disconnected ends, giving her a carefree vibe. It looked like the hair she had woken up with, but still looked good on her. She was in a set of casual attire and a pair of sneakers, making her look different from the heiress image that her family wanted her to have.

As soon as she walked out of the airport, her ears heard a familiar voice.

  "Auntie Yaoyao!"

Little Star called out to her with a wide smile on her face. Beside her stood her twin brother, who was clearly bored from waiting for too long, but when his eyes landed on Gu Yuyao, his grumpiness suddenly vanished into thin air, making Gu Yuyao laugh.

Tang Moyu waved a hand to her in greeting, with a small smile gracing her lips.

She excitedly rushed towards the Tangs and dropped her belongings, before picking Little Star up from the ground, giving the girl a kiss on both her chubby cheeks. Little Star giggled at her Auntie Yaoyao's antics before wrapping her small arms around the woman's neck and giving her a kiss too.

  "We miss you, Auntie Yaoyao."

"Oh my. Is this really my beloved Little Star and Xiao Bao? Wow. I haven't seen you for like two months and you seem to have grown a lot!"

"We've been eating a lot, Auntie Yaoyao. Uncle Ji always makes us yummy food!" Little Star exclaimed with glee. Her bright eyes and warm smile surely complimented the sunny weather in Shenzhen right now.

Since when did Tang Moyu have a man in her life? Gu Yuyao wondered.

"We'll talk about it later." Tang Moyu easily deflected her friend's inquisitive gaze. "You're probably tired from the long flight. Let's go home first."

Taking Gu Yuyao's luggage, Tang Moyu led them towards the parking lot. After placing Gu Yuyao's belongings in the trunk of her car, Tang Moyu started the car while her little buns bombarded her friend with a stream of questions.

"Auntie Yaoyao. Are you really going to live with us for a while? Don't you have a house here?" Xiao Bao asked her.

Gu Yuyao shook her head before playfully pinching both cheeks of the little boy.

"This is Auntie Yuyao's first time in Shenzhen, Xiao Bao. My family lives in a far away place!"

"Really? But you didn't live with them too in the States, so how come even when you're here, your family is still far from you, Auntie Yaoyao?" Little Star inquired as she brushed away the crumbs of her biscuit off her skirt, making Tang Moyu decide to make a mental note to remind one of their maids to help her clean the car once they arrived at home.

"Because Auntie Yaoyao is now a big girl! Auntie Yaoyao doesn't want to fight with her elders, so she'd rather not talk to them." She huffed and crossed her arms over her chest. Just the thought of her family was enough to ruin her mood.

"When you grow up and become an adult like Auntie Yaoyao, you'll have to leave home and live alone too."

That brought tears in Little Star's eyes, catching both Tang Moyu and Gu Yuyao off guard. Even Xiao Bao looked distressed about the thought of leaving their Mommy alone.

"Noooooo! I don't want to leave my mommy! Mommy only has Xiao Bao and Little Star. Mommy will be alone and sad if we leave her." The little girl continued to cry, her face started to turn into a deep shade of red.

Surprised at Little Star's outburst, Gu Yuyao panicked and pulled the crying girl to her lap.

"Hush now, my dear. Auntie Yaoyao didn't mean to make you cry, alright? You don't have to leave your mommy if you don't want to." She wiped Little Star's cheeks with clean napkins, murmuring words to calm her down. Of course, she knew what could happen if Little Star continued crying. She would either end up passing out or be burning with high fever later.

Gu Yuyao chastised herself. She just reunited with these little buns and she successfully made them cry in just one hour. She mouthed a sorry to Tang Moyu who glanced at them through her dashboard mirror.
