Zhao Yifei abruptly paused mid-stride. The smile on his face instantly turned strained. His expression became black, and he glared at the woman, who was holding a mirror and touching up her makeup at a corner of the office.

Zhao Youxi pursed her lips at the mirror before she kept it with satisfaction. When she raised her head, within her expectation, she was greeted by the sight of Zhao Yifei’s sinister and resentful gaze. She laughed and continued, “Why are you not responding? It looks like you didn’t only hurt your hand the other day, but also your tongue, huh?”

Upon hearing her words, Zhao Yifei’s face grew increasingly dark. The next moment, he seemed to remember something. His tensed expression was relieved and the corners of his lips curved upward, showing a hint of mockery, and he snickered, “Hurting my hand and staying in the hospital for several days is way better than a certain one who had confessed shamelessly to someone else at the banquet. Not only had she not received any feedback from that person and ended up becoming a laughing stock, even her boyfriend, whom she had been pestering about and taken great pains to hook up with, had cut ties with her without hesitation.”

Right after Zhao Yifei spoke, the gloating smile on Zhao Youxi’s face immediately stiffened. She felt a fire rising up in her core, not only because of the man before her, but also because of Zhao Youlin.

On that day, when Zhao Youxi saw Mu Tingfeng appear at Master Zhao’s grand birthday banquet, she had thought that Lady Luck had smiled at her. As long as she showed her affection for him, this man would certainly become hers.

She had never expected Zhao Youlin’s sudden appearance at the banquet. Zhao Youlin had even captured Mu Tingfeng’s attention, whom he had avoided like plague in the past, much less her identity had also instantly changed from an abandoned child to the most likely heir of the Zhao family, who had the highest chance of inheriting everything. As such, Zhao Youxi’s bubble was burst overnight.

What angered her the most was, Nie Yunfan, without knowing how he got the news from, was aware of what she had done at the banquet. Since that day, he immediately called her and without even giving her a chance to explain for herself, he sentenced her to the death penalty by cutting ties with her.

By the time Zhao Youxi reacted to this, the only response she got was a miserable beeping sound. Zhao Youxi was so angry that she immediately smashed the phone and threw a tantrum at home.

Unbeknownst to the outsiders, including Li Hongyu and her husband, Zhao Youxi knew well that all the while, Nie Yunfan had never truly been fond of her. If not for her using various tricks to hook him up, bothering him, as well as with the support of some of the members from the Nie family who had looked highly on her, Nie Yunwan would not look at her even once.

Therefore, Zhao Youxi’s behavior at the banquet had given him a good excuse to get rid of this annoying woman.

As a result, Zhao Youxi failed to hook up with Mu Tingfeng and even lost her boyfriend, the young master of the Nie family who had been a great substitute for her. As such, Zhao Youxi was in a fit of rage, yet, she could not find someone to vent out her anger.

Since then, Zhao Youxi naturally put the blame on Zhao Youlin, who had grabbed all the attention that night.

However, when she threw her tantrum, Li Hongyu was the only one who was at home at that time. Nobody else who knew about this. She wondered how the idiot found out about this.

Zhao Yifei seemed to have known Zhao Youxi’s thoughts. He smirked and sat down opposite Zhao Youxi arrogantly. He said, “You must be wondering how I found out about this, huh? Hehe! If you don’t want others to know about it, you shouldn’t have done it in the first place. You’ve given up your dignity by confessing to him before the public, I’m sure you didn’t mind becoming the subject of gossip, right?”

Zhao Yifei stared at Zhao Youxi and saw all the hatred and embarrassment on her face. He gloated and continued, “You’ve gained fame among the upper-class society nowadays. All the women in the upper-class society are aware that your mother, a mistress who usurped the throne of the madam, had taught her own daughter to be a social butterfly who offers herself to any men that she lays her eyes on. Luckily, Nie Yunfan is a smart guy. If he ever wants to stay with a woman like you, I’m pretty sure he will hear word of any unfaithfulness.”

Ever since young, Sun Fengzi had told him that his second uncle’s children were given birth to by his concubine. The children would fight with him for the family’s fortunes when they grew up, especially Zhao Youxi’s younger brother. He had often fought things with him since they were young.

Zhao Yifei was the official and eldest grandson of the Zhao family, Zhao Youxi and her younger brother were merely rascals birthed by an outsider. They were not even qualified to be listed in the genealogy records. So, what rights did they have to fight with him?

Since childhood, Zhao Yifei had never identified Zhao Youxi as his cousin. Instead, he called her and her younger brother, who was leading a promiscuous life overseas, as rascals. This was because the two never deserved a place in his heart.

“Y-You…” Zhao Youxi was deeply infuriated by Zhao Yifei’s words to the point that her face turned white. She sucked in a deep breath. The next moment, she seemed to have recalled something. She snickered, “Don’t be so smug, you are no better than I. All the elderly women in upper-class society are aware that the young master of the Zhao family is a flirt. He is particularly fond of tricking young and innocent ladies, much less hooking up with several women at the same time. As a result, most of the elderly women are very much alerted with your presence for fear that you might have an eye on their daughters and end up being harassed by a flirt like you.

Zhao Youxi shot a provocative glance at Zhao Yifei. She was actually hunting that the two of them were of the same kind. Neither of them was superior to the other.

The only difference was… Zhao Youxi’s targets were mostly men while Zhao Yifei’s targets were mostly women.

When Zhao Yifei heard Zhao Youxi, he abruptly bounced up from the chair and yelled at her, “Who do you think you are? How dare you compare yourself to me? Do you think you’re great just because you have managed to hook up with a few men?! Let me tell you, a man who hooks up with women is called a flirt, while a woman who hooks up with men is a wench. You’re only a wench! You’re not worthy to be compared with me!”

  “Zhao Yifei, don’t go overboard!”

“What can you do to me even if I insist?” Zhao Yifei shot a scornful glance at the furious Zhao Youxi and smiled smugly, “You’re just an outsider’s bastard child. Do you really think you’re a rich man’s daughter just because you’re in the Zhao family?! What a joke!”

“You rascal!” Zhao Youxi lost her cool upon hearing his words and shouted at him. She raised her hand and was about to slap Zhao Yifei. But, Zhao Yifei grabbed her wrist with ease and pushed her away, ending up hitting a table next to her.

A dull thud was heard. Zhao Youxi cried in pain. She squatted and covered her arm that had been painfully hit.

“How dare you even try to strike me?!” Zhao Yifei sneered when he saw Zhao Youxi’s look, “You should have known your capabilities. To be honest, I feel dirty even when I touch you. Bah! You wench!”
