Yun Lin would be alone after he was sent to school. She didn’t know how many people there were. They could have taken the stone quietly, but still, they hid a bomb under her bed. They were as crazy as murderers.

Since someone watched Qian Qian, no matter if this person had another reason or not, Yun Xiangxiang was still worried that there would be an ambush at school.

If they failed in their operation, they could harm her family and friends. She had already troubled Han Zhaolin to take care of her parents and Qian Qian. Song Qian wasn’t free to help either. Yun Xiangxiang could only ask He Wei for help.

Yun Xiangxiang calmed down a lot after he agreed to help. Even so, she was still panicking, and it showed when she was in a video call session with Song Mian.

Song Mian noticed her panic, “If someone could hurt you even in Beijing, that would be a lifetime’s humiliation.”

When Song Mian had given her his guarantee, Yun Xiangxiang stowed her panic away. She wanted to cuddle him, “When are you coming back, Ah Mian?”

“Are you missing me?” Song Mian smiled. His eyes sparkled like a night sky dazzled with stars.

“Yes, I do. Especially when I’m weak and tired,” Yun Xiangxiang nodded honestly.

“I am glad that I have become the one you want to rely on the most,” Song Mian looked happy. “I’ll come back as fast as I can.”

“I’ll be waiting for you. But do take care of yourself, and don’t rush your work,” Yun Xiangxiang reminded him.

She only showed her weakness for an instant. She became her rational self again. Song Mian was expecting her to act cute and be unreasonable, like asking him to come back immediately.

But she didn’t give him the chance to spoil her.

“You too. Don’t overthink it. Everything’s going to be better after tomorrow.” Song Mian reminded her gently before saying good night.

Yun Xiangxiang couldn’t sleep no matter what. She wasn’t as panicked now, but she still felt like a mess.

She tossed and turned. After an hour, someone rang her doorbell. It was Song An, the Song Family’s main butler!

“The young master asked me to send some warm milk to you, Miss Yun,” Song An held a thermos.

Yun Xiangxiang was speechless, “I’m sorry for troubling you over some milk. And it’s already so late too.”

“It’s fine, Miss Yun. The master and young master can only relax if everything is well with you. As long as they’re happy, we are happy,” said Song An gently.

Song An might refer to himself as a servant, but Yun Xiangxiang thought of him as an elder. Yun Xiangxiang wouldn’t waste even a drop of milk her elder sent to her at this hour.

“Don’t worry, Miss Yun. The master is in Beijing,” Song An calmed her down before he left.

Yun Xiangxiang couldn’t waste Song Mian’s efforts in protecting her. If he knew she lost sleep over the matter, he would go even further to keep her safe.

She didn’t want that to happen, so she went to sleep.

Thanks to the milk, she managed to drift off to sleep quickly. She had good sleep for a few hours.

But soon, she had a dream. Someone was holding her by the neck and dangling her over a cliff. She fought and tried to break free, but she failed. In the end, she was pushed off the cliff.

Shocked by her dream, she jolted up. Her body was drenched in cold sweat. Ai Li looked at her worriedly. She grinned, “It’s fine. Just a bad dream.”

She went about her routine as usual. This morning, she was even more unfocused. Du Changrong pushed her filming back.

She turned on her phone, but she couldn’t connect to her security system. She was in the dark about what was happening back there.

Only when Song Qian and He Wei brought Yun Lin to see her in the afternoon did she relax.

The news had reported the case, claiming that it was a simple burglary. Yun Xiangxiang was left out of the news.

She called Han Zhaolin to thank him. She believed that he must have done something to get the news outlets to not mention her in their reports.

Han Zhaolin was a man of few words. “No problem,” he replied.

“The dark green jade is broken,” Song Qian told her.

The criminals were blocked after they had gotten the jade. Even if they knew they were trapped, they still tried to fight their way out.

The one with the jade threw it down the building to distract the police. Dark green jade might be more durable than jadeites, but it couldn’t take this impact. It was smashed into pieces. Fortunately, no one was hit.

“Are all of them captured?” Yun Xiangxiang wanted to know about this more than the jade.

Even if the broken stone was the black jadeite, Yun Xiangxiang would only think of it as a loss. She wouldn’t lose sleep over it.

“There are twelve people in their group,” Song Qian told Yun Xiangxiang about their recon, locking on, baiting, and capture of the criminals. At least she told her the parts she was in.

It was a big group. People were watching Yun Xiangxiang’s family and Qian Qian. But all of them were captured.

“Aww man, that sounds so cool. Shame I missed it,” Yun Lin looked disappointed. He loved stories like this.

Yun Xiangxiang smacked his head angrily, “Do you have any idea how dangerous it is?”

Yun Lin rubbed his head and jumped away with Little Fairy. The cat had a shock. She was sleeping soundly when the sound of a fight woke her. She was greeted by the battle between cops and criminals.

Everyone was safe. Nobody died. Yun Xiangxiang had a happy lunch with them. It had been days since she had a good lunch or a good rest.

She took a nap in the afternoon and came back feeling refreshed. She could film normally again.

Du Changrong didn’t know what happened. He was just thinking about her recovery when Yun Xiangxiang returned to her old self. He was relieved.

Qian Yongnian didn’t go back to his grandson. He just went to the airport for show, and returned to Yun Xiangxiang’s house after video calling his grandson. He immediately started work after Yun Xiangxiang gave him permission. The sooner the stone was made into accessories, the sooner she could relax.

She thought everything had gone back to how they were, but two days later, Captain Luo called her. He asked her to make a trip to the station.

Yun Xiangxiang didn’t expect to be greeted by this news, “Are you saying one of them escaped?”

Captain Luo looked grim, “We found their base of operations. Judging by the traces left there, we believe that one of their bosses had escaped.”

The scene was cleaned up, but since they ran away hastily, it wasn’t cleaned up enough. They knew one of them had escaped, but they didn’t know his identity.
