“But the romance part of this drama is a bit veiled,” Wei Shanshan talked about why she was not optimistic about “Overseer of the Heavenly Destiny.”

“Is it veiled, really?” Yun Xiangxiang disagreed with Wei Shanshan.

As she held Wei Shanshan’s hand, Yun Xiangxiang said, “Shanshan, you cannot look at it through the female protagonist’s lens. You have to step out of it and see it from the lens of the audience.”

Yun Xiangxiang did not manage to see the complete script, but Wei Shanshan described it in great detail.

Putting aside the pleasing character of the drama’s female protagonist, the part where the male protagonist fell for the female protagonist first was already making it stand out.

In most mythical dramas, it was usually the female protagonists who fell head over heels for the incredibly aloof male protagonists.

Even though the old overseer was a powerful being who controlled the life and death of the mortal realm, it was exactly the fact that such a being falling in love with the female protagonist first made the audience adore the female protagonist.

The old overseer’s trials, protection, and partiality toward the female protagonist in the early stages of the drama would cover the audience’s hearts like a thin veil.

They would look forward to the moment when this veil would be pulled back, where both protagonists would know about how they felt toward each other.

Besides, this mythical drama was not just a motivational drama about growth.

“Overseer of the Heavenly Destiny.” Everything about it revolved around heavenly destinies.

There were also Heavenly Emperors of the nine heavens that were staging a coup because they were jealous about how powerful an overseer was.

Once it was wrapped up, it could go toe to toe with any big historical drama in terms of magnificence. Perhaps even more so.

“Okay, I’ll listen to you, then,” even though Wei Shanshan had her misgivings about “Overseer of the Heavenly Destiny,” she believed in Yun Xiangxiang blindly.

Both of them chatted for a while. Wei Shanshan left after she had lunch at Yun Xiangxiang’s home. Time was not generous to her.

After sending off Wei Shanshan, Yun Xiangxiang planned to fulfill Song Meng’s request of bringing her and Li Xiangling for a spin outside. However, He Wei gave her a call to tell her that he was bringing her to report in at the driving school.

The driving school He Wei registered her in was a famous driving school for celebrities. They basically only take actors and special individuals without any freedom of time.

They took the approach of one-to-one coaching. He Wei had also arranged a coach for her. She was also a lady.

It was difficult to pass the certification for a coach. Woman coaches were even rarer. A female coach was undeniably more convenient for Yun Xiangxiang.

“This is Madam Yang,” He Wei introduced her to Yun Xiangxiang. “This here is my actress.”

“Hello, Teacher Yang,” Yun Xiangxiang greeted her first.

“Hello, my daughter and I are your fans. When I knew that you were coming to the driving school, I went out of my way to apply as your coach.” Enthusiasm burned in Yang Xin’s eyes when she looked at Yun Xiangxiang.

“You can’t go easy on her because of this,” He Wei had to remind Yang Xin.

“Hahahaha, don’t worry, Mr. He. I have to be responsible for my idol’s safety,” Yang Xin patted her chest as a sign of guarantee.

Yang Xin was plump, but her smile was contagious. She looked like she was in her forties, yet she had an energetic laugh.

Yang Xin brought them along to get Yun Xiangxiang familiar with the surroundings after the physical examination and procedures were done. Yang Xin followed up with teaching Yun Xiangxiang how to control the steering wheel and gears.

It was to everyone’s surprise that Yun Xiangxiang understood it right after she had learned it. On top of that, her performance was stable. There was no hint of a newbie on her.

Even He Wei was dumbfounded, let alone Yang Xin.

Yun Xiangxiang could only mumble some excuse, “I knew that I was coming to driving school before the new year, so I did my homework in private.”

“She has the habit of making prior preparations,” He Wei was clear about how Yun Xiangxiang went about with her business.

“You are too brilliant. You must be the student that has the fastest record in passing the exam,” Yang Xin was not stingy with her praise about Yun Xiangxiang.

“I actually want to finish this in the shortest time possible. I want to make an appointment for taking the theoretical exam the day after tomorrow,” Yun Xiangxiang said with a smile.

“The day after tomorrow!” Yang Xin felt incredulous.

It’s very late now after all that physical examination. Is Yun Xiangxiang planning to use a day’s time to do some crazy revision and take the first theoretical exam?

If it was not for her worrying about it being too much, Yun Xiangxiang wanted to take the exam tomorrow. She only needed to read through the theoretical knowledge.

She was a driver with many years of driving experience in her previous life after all.

He Wei looked at Yun Xiangxiang, “Just do as she wanted.”

Yang Xin nodded. After she had noted it down, she asked, “Then what about the second and third practical tests……”

“I’ll go overseas for a bit after this. Let’s set the practical tests to be thirty-two days later,” Yun Xiangxiang had planned it all out in her mind.

After taking the theoretical exam, she would need to wait ten days before taking the first part of the practical test, followed by twenty more days of waiting before she could take the second part of the practical test.

The fortunate thing was that even though she was celebrating her Lunar birthday, her birthday on her ID, which was the second of February on the Gregorian calendar, had passed. She could take the driver’s license exam.

Her goal was to pass all the tests in one go. She would finish all of them after forty-five days. All that was left was to wait for her license then.

Yun Xiangxiang’s plan stunned Yang Xin. She had nearly five years of experience of teaching in driving schools. She had her fair share of encounters with strong students.

However, those people had learned how to drive a car at home. They only came here to go through the motions of getting that driver’s license.

Yun Xiangxiang was acting in almost the same way as them. Besides, judging by how she talked, she did not plan to come here every day to train hard.

“I will practise more at home,” Yun Xiangxiang could only explain herself like that.

Yang Xin thought about Yun Xiangxiang being a top student. Perhaps she can learn better than anyone else. She did not enquire further.

Back at her home, Yun Xiangxiang went through all the questions of the theoretical exams with the same seriousness as when she researched her scripts. She made zero mistakes after going through several sets of questions.

She guessed correctly even on the occasional questions when she was uncertain. Even so, Yun Xiangxiang still picked them out and went through them in earnest.

Song Mian was still the chef for dinner. He called Li Xiangling and Song Meng over.

“Xiangxiang, I have never been jealous of you. But now, I envy you.” Song Meng said after she finished her pre-meal snack.

Yun Xiangxiang rolled her eyes, “If you want to date, you can do it anytime.”

Song Meng might not be a really beautiful lady, but she was optimistic and had a sense of justice. She was not bad with the boys at all.

“I want a perfect boyfriend like this too,” Song Meng pouted as she placed her cheeks in her hands.

“If you want a perfect boyfriend, you have to be perfect yourself too,” Li Xiangling remarked mercilessly.

Song Meng glared at her, “Hmph! I am a sucker for good looks. He at least has to be handsome.”

Li Xiangling took a mirror from her bag and handed it to Song Meng, “Take a look in the mirror.”

“Li Xiangling, our friendship is over,” Song Meng threw the mirror back to Li Xiangling.

Yun Xiangxiang stood up with a resigned smile. She went to the kitchen to help Song Mian out. Both of them have been teasing each other since they were kids.

“Look at those two. Don’t they look like an old married couple,” the two fighting girls whispered to each other after their little tussle had ended.

From where they looked, they could see the backs of two busy people through the space between the carved mahogany.

Yun Xiangxiang would hand the sauces, dishes, and plates to Song Mian.

Song Mian would take some from the wok with a pair of chopsticks and feed it to Yun Xiangxiang. He was maybe asking her about the taste and how cooked the dish was.

“They’re torturing singles like nobody’s business,” envy bubbled in Song Meng’s mind.

“Sister Mengmeng? Are you getting tortured?” Yun Lin who was doing his homework suddenly raised his head to ask.

“Yes,” Song Meng answered instinctively. She did not react in time.

“Then you are a sucker. I am not,” Yun Lin nudged his homework further away from her. He even moved his body as he spoke. Staying away from Song Meng was what he was planning.

“Humans and suckers don’t belong together.” Li Xiangling had also stood up and went toward the kitchen.
