Chapter 31: The Third Waves Chaos

  BANG!

The second wave's leader died after Reylin's fireball slapped its face. It disappeared into particles, and items from him appeared in Reylin's inventory.

Other than the spear and black ring, Reylin's eyes narrowed at the item called the dark matter's stone. That stone probably landed in the hero's equipment, and she smartly didn't reveal its existence.

  Reylin chuckled.

  He would do the same.

[The Dark Matter's Stone - Item might be helpful in chapter two of the main quest!]

That was a short explanation, but the content surely would be more developed. For now, Reylin didn't let any surprise transpire on his face. Instead, his lips curved into a teasing smile, and a black spear promptly landed on his hands.

"I wonder what it is……" Reylin tossed the spear up, his eyes on Vis.

Vis glanced at the spear, saying nothing, then his eyes went to the side. He didn't even want to think about what kind of absurd request Reylin would soon propose. However, to his surprise, Reylin tossed that spear toward him!

He said, "Take it. In the upcoming guild competition, cajole your sister and save the hero from some troubles until the very end."

That was an unexpected but blunt request to help the Hero Party!

Maya glanced at Reylin with her big eyes, not knowing what to say. She shifted attention to Vis, who had voiced her thoughts.

Vis looked at the spear, "That's surprising. You just made one guy work for you for the whole month, and now this."

"Today was already a blast. I am pretty calm, I would say. The flames still howl throughout the forest, and I think carefully of the future." Reylin's smile broadened, "This is the world that unlocks me. I won't let it deluge in the dark matter. The flames need a good background, you know?"

"A good background, you say? Well, I guess I will pester the elder sister," Vis took the spear and checked its stats. That spear was tough, increased the strength and agility, and possessed increased damage toward the dark zone monsters!

It was a weapon that would turn into their nemesis.

  Vis secretly peeked at Reylin.

The pyromaniac was currently looked at deeply by the hero.

Maya looked at him, then bared her hands as if keeping up the guard! However, she tightly clenched those and just loudly said, "Thank you!"

"That's the investment for the future, Ferocious Bear," Reylin waved her hand before her face, flames dancing between his fingers.

Hearing her nickname, Maya crossed her arms beneath her chest and nodded, "Indeed. You can invest in my guild."

"You don't sound like a guild leader at all," Reylin chuckled and returned to the backline.

"What do you mean by that?!" Maya asked, rushing after him.

Vis chuckled while gazing at the hero, pestering the pyromaniac with questions, "He's more talkative and approachable here."-

At last, the third wave began.

It was the last wave, and many players already wanted to leave that zone. The dark fantasy wasn't their thing, and it was also quite arduous work. With their normal classes and newbie skills, their chances to stand out were at most 5%.

Those with unique classes and items stood out, and that was their show.

They understood that inwardly, but not many could accept that easily.

Reylin and his two strong friends stood at the helm, "You don't want to approach players because of your little trick?"

"I am a little selfish. Yes, that's the case." Maya replied.

"Be more selfish then." Reylin left these words, his eyes rising to the sky.

The dark sky prevailed even to this moment, but the existence flying out there was even darker than it.

Its presence was overwhelming, and it was the floating skeleton!

  [The Third Wave's Leader - The Arch Mage's Puppet Lv. 40 HP: 2000/2000 MP: 10 000/10 000]

Everyone looked up as well, and shivers went down their spines as they tried to probe the existence above them. The black eye sockets in the skull seemed like a bottomless end, and many players felt drawn toward them.

It was as if that skeleton put the crowd control skill on them.

The skeleton wore old and tattered robes, holding one staff in its bony hand. That staff was even longer than its height, and it lit up in the scarlet mana.

"Red Moon," The leader said in a cold and eerie voice!

On his staff tip, the red moon conjured itself and floated up higher into the sky. It brightly flashed on the dark sky, and it let a thousand projectiles out of its form! Those were like stars, all going down for the players!

At the same time, the dark forest suffered an earthquake.

Earthquakes swept through players, and they nearly lost balance! A few of them tripped, and they looked at the incoming monsters and the red projectiles with helpless eyes. It seemed like they all lost courage before such might!

Vis swept his hand, "Tanks shall protect the healers! Everyone else must scatter and pray for the best! Try to avoid those projectiles, and should they touch you, protect your vitals!" He said out loud, then went forward with the black spear.

Before his eyes, the black hairs scattered, and the hero rushed faster than anyone else! Her sword lit up in the golden light, and Maya drew the long sword arc that barrelled into the monsters.

She also extracted a little mana, but that skill didn't come without a price.

After a few swings, her sword broke!

However, Maya's inventory contained a few swords of the same quality for her level! She was well prepared for that sacrifice, and together with Vis, she gathered the attention of the most monsters.

Reylin also found a room for himself. His flames from before still howled, and he easily connected to them. The fire roared louder after he'd stepped in, welcoming their master back!

The flames and Reylin's fireballs swept through the battlefield.

However, he wasn't the first one to sow chaos. The red projectiles had long since landed on many players, and roughly thirty percent of them had died without even knowing where those red arrows landed.

Some were lucky to survive. Some had avoided it as well.

The red moon battered the ground, and small earthquakes boomed from time to time.

[You have been targeted by the Red Sheen.]

[Thirty Red Moonlight Arrows had been sent toward you.]

"Such a grand magic, Archmage Skeleton," Reylin snickered, then arched his back!

He spread his hands, and the flames crawled up his arms. In a subsequent second, Reylin threw as many fireballs as possible, all going up to intercept the red arrows.

The loud explosions popped in the sky, and Reylin's eyes expanded, "Beautiful. It's just a fireball, not even of the highest quality, and it still delivers." He was content with what he had, but the fireballs didn't do their job well.

A few arrows penetrated through the explosions, and their forms headed straight toward Reylin!

  He disappeared within his flames!

The skeleton looked down, "I lost track of him?" It talked to itself while scanning the forest beneath its bony feet!

  He couldn't find Reylin!

  Reylin 'found' him!

  BANG!

The fireball exploded near the skeleton's skull, its head tilting to the side! In those empty eye sockets, the confusion bloomed! "Am I facing the player or the hidden expert?"

That mana control was too outstanding!
