Cen Mo smiled. “I thought that you were lofty, conceited, and pretentious. But after coming to know you had some psychological issues, after learning you had been to Iraq in search of someone, that you treated Tuan Tuan as your own blood, and that you took care of…”

Before he could say Xiangsi’s name out loud, Cen Mo already felt his throat turn swollen and painful. He smiled. “Knowing you took care of Xiangsi, I’m very grateful to you!”

Song Yao hadn’t expected that while waiting for the result of the DNA test, Lin Nuan and Cen Mo would end up having a conversation of their first impressions and opinions of each other.

“Sister Xiangsi was the kindest and most resilient girl I know. She took care of me in Iraq, so it’s only right for me to take care of her in turn!” Lin Nuan thought about it, then added, “Back in Iraq, Sister Xiangsi mentioned to me that she had an older brother. Previously, I wasn’t really close to you, so I never told you…”

Cen Mo was surprised to hear that Lu Xiangsi would mention him to someone else. He had thought that Lu Xiangsi must have hated him to the core and would never forgive him.

He stared at Lin Nuan’s eyes, seemingly waiting for Lin Nuan to tell him… exactly what Lu Xiangsi said.

“Before Sister Xiangsi gave birth, she told me that she hoped that her firstborn would be a boy! I asked her why, and she said… she too had an older brother. It was just that it was like her older brother had disappeared and she couldn’t manage to contact him. But her older brother was the best brother in the world!”

So Lu Xiangsi had pinned wonderful hopes on Tuan Tuan. She hoped that her child would grow up to be someone as outstanding as her brother. She also hoped that her child would turn out to be like her brother, worthy of her admiration!

More importantly, Lu Xiangsi wanted to remedy her regrets…

Early on, her brother went missing. Later, her family underwent a huge change, and no one heard anything from her brother after he went overseas. However, she hoped to be able to give her child a complete home!

She hoped her child would grow up together with the older brother, with the older brother shielding the younger one while the younger one helped out the older brother!

The wonderful life she used to hope for, she wasn’t able to obtain for herself. Hence, she hoped that her kid would be able to continue… living out that life for her, to be blissful on behalf of them.

A warm current struck Cen Mo’s heart. With his eyes overwhelmed by a sore sensation, he turned his head away.

So, Lu Xiangsi… had never hated him, not even for a day?

“Sister Xiangsi never blamed you!” Lin Nuan easily said this. It was as if she knew what Cen Mo was thinking.

  Cen Mo grew increasingly silent.

The phone in the living room rang. Heart skipping a beat, Song Yao quickly walked over to pick up the phone. It was Saihand.

Lin Nuan, Cen Mo, and Fu Huai’an all stared at Song Yao, who had gone over to answer the call, waiting for her to announce the outcome.

Sweat appeared on Song Yao’s palms from all the stares, and she was feeling nervous.

Saihand said, “Madam, the result is out. Sir and Ms. Lin are indeed siblings. I’ll bring the DNA test report back right away!”

  Indeed siblings!

Song Yao’s heart started beating super fast. She had never imagined that her best friend would turn out to be her husband’s younger sister!

Generally speaking, best friends becoming sisters-in-law was a commonly seen phenomenon…

However, she had gotten married to Cen Mo before finding out that Lin Nuan was Cen Mo’s younger sister. The words “coincidental” and “accidental” were no longer sufficient to describe this.

After hanging up, Song Yao glanced at Cen Mo, then at Lin Nuan. “The result is out. The two of you… are indeed siblings!”

Lin Nuan’s pounding heart gradually calmed down upon hearing this news…

Her intuition was spot on, Cen Mo was indeed her older brother!

  Finally, she found him!

Lin Nuan turned to look at Fu Huai’an, her eyes watery and red.

Fu Huai’an walked to Lin Nuan’s side and stroked the top of her head. He sat down on the sofa’s armrest and, holding her hand, pulled her into his embrace. “This is a good thing!”

  “Mm!” Lin Nuan answered.

Cen Mo’s heart was beating super fast to begin with. Right now, it was so intense it felt like his heart was about to leap out of his chest.

So, he was accidentally lost by the nanny, and his mother loved him deeply, being crazy all her life because of him!

His father had, because of him, lost his well-salaried job and was deported from the US!

After he went missing, their family was dirt poor because his parents nearly spent all their money searching for him…

So, his parents did love him!

So, his parents had never given up on him!

Cen Mo gripped the sofa’s armrest. Although one couldn’t tell from his expression, internally, he was experiencing emotional turmoil.

Song Yao gazed at Cen Mo. Seeing him sitting there as stiff as a rock, she couldn’t help but worry.

She sat down beside Cen Mo and called out softly, “Cen Mo…”

“Let’s talk after I see the test report!”

Cen Mo then got up to go upstairs, not turning back even once.

His heart was unable to calm down…

Cen Mo locked himself in the study. Veins were visible on his hands, which were propped against the desk. It looked rather scary.

  He hated himself!

Back then, he clearly had a feeling he might not be a biological child of the Lu family, but he was afraid his investigations might lead him to find out that his birth parents deserted him, so he didn’t have the guts to investigate!

Back then, his biological younger sister was right by his side!

Back then, his mother was still alive!

If he had been braver and dared to learn the reason he was lost, no matter what it was, with his capability, it would have been possible for him to locate his mother before she passed away!

But he didn’t have the guts!

Because he didn’t have the guts, he missed the chance to see his mother forever!

Cen Mo clenched his teeth, his gums filled with the taste of blood.

He had investigated Lin Nuan, so he was aware of the condition Lin Nuan’s mother was in.

  Lunatic, hur hur…

Cen Mo even used to mock the fact that Lin Nuan’s mother was a lunatic. Never mind that this lunatic was actually his own mother, but he was even the reason she went berserk. What irony.

Song Yao stood outside the study, but she didn’t abruptly knock on the door.

Actually, even if Cen Mo didn’t look at the test report, he had already accepted the fact that he was the child Lin Nuan’s biological parents lost. The reason he insisted on talking after seeing the test report was to conceal his turbulent emotions.

  …

Downstairs, Lin Nuan didn’t rush to go upstairs. She leaned into Fu Huai’an’s arms, unable to describe what she was feeling. But when she lowered her gaze and saw the photo of Ji Yun’s letter, her lips curled up. “Found him after all…”

Fu Huai’an nodded. “Mm! Found him!”

Little Lu accompanied Tuan Tuan while he slept upstairs. The first thing the little fellow asked about when he woke up was his mama. He was worried about Lin Nuan and the little baby in her tummy. Little Lu had no choice but to take Tuan Tuan downstairs.

The little one was still drowsy from his sleep, so he rubbed his eyes with the backs of his hands. When he got to the foot of the stairs and saw Lin Nuan, his eyes reddened. He immediately bounced over to her and placed both hands on Lin Nuan’s knees, looking up at her with an earnest gaze. “Mama!”

Lin Nuan smiled and lifted Tuan Tuan into her arms. She then said softly, “Mama is very happy, Tuan Tuan…”
