His vision turned towards the youth who was clenching his fists. Seeing the unwilling and stubborn look on the male lead’s face, he said calmly to the male lead, “No one is thinking of having you replaced. If you think you can handle this scene, you can do it. I have no problem with it…”

The assistant director tugged at the male lead’s sleeves, afraid the male lead might unknowingly offend someone. He said, “This is the largest investor in our movie…”

Upon hearing this, the male lead’s expression turned even more ghastly.

If that guy was an investor, then he would have no hope. Even if he begged the director, he would definitely be replaced!

The male lead clenched his fists tightly by his sides. Just as he was so close to his dream, he was kicked down from the clouds. This made him feel like he was better off dead than alive!

“Such an important figure is here to be your stunt double, so stop talking nonsense! Go rest and get well quickly!” the assistant director said in a hushed voice.

The male lead couldn’t respond for a moment, his expression even more dazed and adorable than Tuan Tuan. “What… stunt double?”

Song Yao knew what the male lead was fretting about, so she said with a smile, “Lin Nuan’s husband used to be a soldier, so he’s more familiar with these actions. He has no intention of taking the male lead role away from you! He’s merely helping you do the actions you’re currently unable to do. Only then will the progress of filming not be held up, and Lin Nuan’s time won’t be held up! Moreover… Lin Nuan’s husband doesn’t have the time to film a movie here either. His business brings him tens or hundreds of millions every minute, so he doesn’t have time to waste here! Get it?”

The male lead looked at Song Yao, who was talking, in disbelief. He then looked towards Fu Huai’an, his throat vibrating. “I…”

Fu Huai’an took a SIG551 from the props crew and adjusted it for a while, then said to the director, “If it doesn’t affect the plot, can you help me change it to a CZ805?”

The director nodded repeatedly. “Yes! No problem! Props team…”

How could they not satisfy this tiny request Fu Huai’an had? Dare they not satisfy him?

Lin Nuan couldn’t understand why Fu Huai’an wanted a CZ805 initially, but when she saw Fu Huai’an walking towards her with the CZ805 in hand, Lin Nuan’s lips slightly parted. It was like she was looking at the Fu Huai’an back in Iraq all over again…

Her eyes felt a little warm, and the corners of her lips turned up involuntarily.

So, his asking for a CZ805 was to make it look as similar to the day they first met as possible?

Lin Nuan hugged Tuan Tuan tightly…

The little one clapped his hands hard, his chubby little hands flashing a thumbs-up for Fu Huai’an to see. “Terrific! Papa is terrific!”

The tall and broad Fu Huai’an stood before Lin Nuan with a smile. “Resembles that day?”

Lin Nuan nodded vigorously with Tuan Tuan in her arms.

Fu Huai’an stroked Tuan Tuan’s head with his large hand, then took a deep look at Lin Nuan before walking to the set.

Lin Nuan’s gaze followed Fu Huai’an, her heart beating especially fast. With Tuan Tuan in her arms and him walking over with a rifle, it was like they had returned to the day they met for the first time in Iraq. Lin Nuan’s heart throbbed, having loved him for many years.

Seeing Lin Nuan’s reddened eyes, Song Yao nudged Lin Nuan’s arm. “Are you crying because your husband is too handsome?”

This time around, Lin Nuan didn’t show any shyness. She nodded. “Right, I’m crying because my husband is too handsome…”

Tuan Tuan gazed at Lin Nuan, his hands tightly wrapped around Lin Nuan’s neck as he gently stroked Lin Nuan’s head. “Mama, don’t cry!”

Lin Nuan was tickled, chuckling softly. She tightly held the child in her embrace…

“Then you’ve got to keep a close watch on your husband. Just now, when your husband came out of that tent, all the women’s eyes here sparkled!” Song Yao teased Lin Nuan with a smile. “If it weren’t for the fact that my husband isn’t too shabby, I might be so attracted to your husband that I wouldn’t be able to look away!”

“If Cen Mo hears this, you’ll be in trouble!” Lin Nuan used her chin to point towards Cen Mo, who was looking over at them from a distance.

Song Yao smiled and excitedly waved at Cen Mo, flashing a thumbs-up.

There was a smile in Cen Mo’s eyes as he adjusted the tightness of his helmet. He then went with the assistant director to the top of the building where the sniper should be at.

Fu Huai’an had seen the actions, and there wasn’t much difficulty to them. The rapid descent from a helicopter, climbing over a wall formed by humans, ziplining from a high story, gunfights, none of it posed any difficulty to Fu Huai’an!

Lin Nuan carried Tuan Tuan and stood with Song Yao behind the director, staring attentively at the monitor…

Hearing the sound of the helicopter, Lin Nuan couldn’t resist looking up and in the direction of the helicopter. All preparations were ready on the helicopter and on top of the building. As Lin Nuan watched the main actors quickly descending from the two sides of the helicopter, her heart rose to her throat.

  But she couldn’t see Fu Huai’an anywhere…

She held her breath and looked up at the sky, narrowing her eyes as the sand flew into them as a result of the wind stirred up by the helicopter!

Finally, Lin Nuan saw an extremely athletic figure descending alone from the skies in a beautiful and fluid movement at such a fast speed it made one astounded. Somehow, it had the effect of making one’s blood burn!

  It was Fu Huai’an!

Lin Nuan subconsciously gripped her clothes. The sunshine was too striking, so Lin Nuan was forced to squint her eyes and hence could only see an agile and masculine figure with a murderous aura raising a CZ805 with one hand, seeming as if he was ready for battle at any moment.

Unlike all the other male leads who descended earlier, Fu Huai’an did it more quickly and more nimbly, and he didn’t take any extra actions. This was the attitude one should have on a battlefield, making full use of every minute and second instead of only caring about executing the actions beautifully and perfectly!

Everyone held their breaths. Because of Fu Huai’an’s speed, they were whisked away, caught up in an atmosphere so nerve-racking it made one feel suffocated!

Fu Huai’an’s speed was too quick, and he was getting nearer… and nearer to the ground. Lin Nuan’s heart was stuck in her throat. With Fu Huai’an’s speed, she was afraid he might get injured!

While her attention was still fully on him, Fu Huai’an had already bent his knees and rolled over to reduce the impact of landing. Kneeling on one knee and maintaining the posture of engaging in battle, he loaded the gun…

  “Bump—”

  The gun fired…

  “Cut!”

The director called for a stop, approving of the perfectly-executed scene.

The director couldn’t care about the others, repeatedly playing that scene over and over again. Before he even got to editing, his blood was already on fire.

Only those present at the scene like Lin Nuan could deeply feel the explosive impact that Fu Huai’an brought them, the kind that made goosebumps rise all over their bodies.

It was as if every muscle on Fu Huai’an was prepared for battle. With every action being precise and to the point, nothing felt supplementary. Moreover, it was so fast it made one’s heart rate quicken accordingly.

He didn’t need to say much, as he himself had this convincing appeal to him, making people willing to follow him onto the battlefield, even at the expense of their lives.

This was perhaps what they meant by the soul of being a soldier. Although Fu Huai’an was retired from the army, the things that had been carved into his soul were already bound to his life and couldn’t be eradicated.
