Abruptly, she tried to yank back but was surprised by his strength. H-how was this possible? She used to train for a very long period of time to build stamina and muscle for fighting. She blinked at her loss of strength. Was it because she had stopped going to the gym for a while? Perhaps so, for she hasn’t trained in a while due to her dislike towards the gym.

She knew from Yang Feng’s muscular build that he regularly works out, even now she can feel his muscular body against hers. Even so, she thought he should not easily be able to hold her in place.

She had placed all of her weight into that tug, but he didn’t budge from his position. As a matter of fact, he was unfazed to the harsh force acting against him.

His expression didn’t change and he looked as if he didn’t feel the sharp tug. She frowned at this and tried again to pull back. Once again, her attempts were futile.

"Stop struggling." He told her, brushing back a few strands of her fringe. His grip was incredibly strong and surprisingly, it didn’t hurt her.

She wondered why it was like this. In the past, whenever Zheng Tianyi had any physical contact with her, he wouldn’t use a lot of strength but she would always end up being hurt in some way.

A small voice at the back of her mind proposed a foolish idea. ’Maybe it’s because Yang Feng actually treasures you and is sincerely interested in you, unlike Zheng Tianyi who doesn’t care about you one bit.’

At the inviting thought, she immediately shook her head. Yang Feng treasured her? She can tell he was interested in her, but why would he treat her so gently as if she was his woman?

"Let go of me." She told him.

"And if I say no?" He teasingly asked, playing with her silky long hair.

Her eyes narrowed, her knees inching closer to his treasured body part. "I’ll make sure you won’t be able to walk for days on end."

Yang Feng laughed at her tiny threat, pushing a few strands of hair behind her ear once again. Like it always does, her hair would skip from behind her ears.

Suddenly and without warning, he yanked her down so that their lips were merely inches apart. Her eyes flickered with surprise, growing wide at their proximity.

He brushed his warm and soft lips against her ears, the warm breath of air tickling her. "My dear, I have another idea of getting that result. Except, it will be you who can’t walk——" Before he could even finish his sentence, she had slammed her forehead onto his.

Immediately, he released her, grabbing his forehead in pain. She fell beside him on the couch, crying out in pain, as she clutched and grabbed her forehead. "Ow!" She groaned, despite the fact that she was the one who attacked him.

"You can’t say ’ow’ when you’re the one who got yourself into the situation." He pettily said while rubbing his forehead.

"Well, if you had released me and wasn’t so adamant on being stubborn-"

"Me, stubborn? Why, I believe that is your role in the relationship."

"My role in the relationship?!" Her voice shrill at the end, glaring at him for his accusations.

He chuckled at her expression, before pulling her closer and gently rubbing her forehead.

He was pleased that she had not denied that they indeed had a relationship. Although what that relationship was is a completely different matter altogether.

Despite the fact that his own head was hurting and she was the one who caused this upon the both of them, he still prioritized her first. "There, there." He softly said, using his thumb to rub it.

Zhao Lifei felt a pleasant warmth spread throughout her chest at the way he was treating her. Her stomach fluttered at his actions, but she remained stubborn and continued to glower at him.

She had kept her focus on how warm his hand is on her skin without realizing that once again, she had been pulled back into Yang Feng’s arms.

Upon looking at her scowl and the daggers shooting from her eyes, Yang Feng was once again reminded of a little kitty flexing her tiny claws. ’How cute, she thinks she can do damage.’

In order to add fuel to her flames, he decided to speak up. "Once again, I would like to say you are incredibly stubborn and-" She suddenly decided mid-sentence to hit him with one of the pillows on the couch but with his incredibly fast reflexes, he dodged it.

He laughed at her bad temperament. "Now now, that’s not nice." He hummed, releasing her and allowing her to stand up.

Zhao Lifei glared at him as her blood began to boil at the sight of his amused face. She wished she could just wipe that smirk off of it!

"Speaking of things that are not nice, your gun is one of them." He became serious now, the mirth no longer swirling within his dark eyes that always resembled a shallow pool of ink, tainting everything that it touched.

Zhao Lifei’s anger drained from her body instantly. She bit her bottom lip and avoided his stare. Instead, she opted to glare at the couch. All of a sudden, it looked like the most interesting thing in the world.

"Why do you have one? You do know it’s illegal to possess one." He watched her, wondering with each passing second how a woman like her was able to get her hand on something so dangerous and extremely regulated by the government.

He knew she had her connections, but one that would be able to provide her an unregistered gun even Chen Gaonan wasn’t able to sniff out from all the investigation he had done, is worth pondering over.

The security around guns was excruciatingly tight, making it hard even for established black market operators to smuggle them into the country. On top of that, in order to get one that was untraceable, the person must have a connection to the military or underworld. And from what he knew, only Zhao Moyao was involved in anything that would have access to a gun.

If she was part of the underworld, he would’ve known. There was no way a face and presence like hers would go by undetected. He thought back to the day of the banquet where she seemed well-educated over different types of guns and how she also had a small dagger in her possession at all times. He thought she was an expert in guns and knives, but never in a hundred years would he expect her to own one.
