"Auntie, let me help you with the dishes." Xia Meilin offered as she stood up.

  She took her plate but it was grabbed from her by Jing Wanru. "You don’t have to, sweetheart. You’re our guests." Jing Wanru said with a smile.

  Unlike Jing Yue, Jing Wanru was easy to befriend and was very kind to others. She has a resemblance with her younger sister but there were also some differences in her face, especially the way she smiles and her round eyes. Even if she was older than Jing Yue by two years, she looked younger than her. Maybe it was because she always smiles and she looked bright?

  "Mello will help!" Little Melon raised his hand and grinned at her. "Let me help, grandmomma! Let me help!"

  "I won’t say no to the young one." Jing Wanru started collecting the dishes with the help of Nian Jiezhen and Little Mello.

  "Yifeng, why don’t you bring your wife to the living room? It’s more comfortable there."

  "Auntie, I do not have a disability, I am just pregnant." Xia Meilin pouted as she stood up.

  Nian Jiezhen nodded inwardly. She’s just pregnant so what’s with the special treatment to her?

  "Come, honey." Lu Yifeng placed his hand on her waist and gently dragged her towards the living room.

  Nian Jiezhen stared at the two with an envious gaze. She pursed her lips and turned away. She stomped her way to the kitchen.

  Jing Yue watched the couple leave before she followed her daughter to the kitchen. "It’s about time you get married, Jiezhen. Look at Xiao Mei, she’s the same age as you and yet she’s already married, plus she’s about to have her second and third child."

  "I’m committed to my work." Nian Jiezhen said coldly. She waited for Lu Yifeng all these years. Since they grew up together, she thought that one day, they would be together too.

  Jing Wanru sighed heavily at this. "I don’t understand why you want to do such a dangerous job."

  "What’s your work, sister Jiezhen?" Little Melon asked after climbing up the chair.

  Nian Jiezhen turned to Little Melon and smiled. "I’m a Special Agent."

  Little Melon tilted his head to the side in confusion. "Special Agent?"

  "We catch bad guys." Nian Jiezhen stood beside Little Melon and started washing the dishes.

  Little Melon’s eyes sparkled when he heard what she said. He looked at her in a different light after learning her work. "Mello wants to catch bad guys when I grow up too!"

  Nian Jiezhen smirked with what Little Melon said. "Oho? It’s a dangerous job you know."

  "Of course it is! You’re catching the bad guys after all. Bad guys are strong and scary but Mello will become stronger and scarier than them so that Mello can catch them."

  Nien Jiezhen blinked a few times with his words. She stared at the little boy before she started laughing out loud. "Hahaha! You’re an interesting fellow!"

  Jing Wanru sighed. She wasn’t worried at what Little Melon wants to become when he grows up, after all, Little Melon was still young and his mind is easily influenced by other things.

  "Sister Jiezhen, can you teach Mello some tricks on how to catch bad guys after this?"

  Nian Jiezhen snickered. "It won’t be easy."

  "Momma said that nothing comes easy, if Mello wants to do something, Mello needs to work hard to become the best in it! Nothing beats hard work! "

  Nian Jiezhen stared at Little Mello who was wiping the dishes that she finished washing. "She said that?"

  The moment Xia Meilin sat on the sofa, she hugged Lu Yifeng from the side. She buried her face on his chest and closed his eyes. "I want to go home after this." She whispered softly.

  The more she stays here, the more she wanted to taunt Nian Jiezhen; the more she wanted to let her watch how she flirts with her husband. She wants to make her watch until Nian Jiezhen erupt and her real color will be seen, but…… Jing Wanru was there.

  Jing Wanru was a nice and gentle woman so for her sake, Xia Meilin won’t do that. If Nian Jiezhen’s mother wasn’t there, she would have kicked her off out of her own house.

  Xia Meilin looked innocent as a bunny but she was actually as crafty as a fox if someone tried to get in her bad side. Because of her sharp mouth, she knows a lot of ways on how to provoke someone. This was the first time Lu Yifeng saw his wife like this; the dangerous look in her eyes, the smirk on her lips…… she didn’t look innocent at all. This was only seen in a blink of an eye earlier, no one noticed it but him; that mischievous look his wife has on her face earlier.

  He took out his phone and gave Su Lei a message.

  When Su Lei received it, he felt like the heavens’ door opened for him. His boss just told him that his pay would be doubled! Doubled! His eyes weren’t deceiving him, right?

  "Who are you messaging?" Xia Meilin took a peek on his phone. She chuckled when she saw his message. "Why don’t you triple it, darling? He helped me a lot in my surprise plan for you."

  "Okay." Just like what Xia Meilin suggested, he gave Su Lei another message.

  [Your pay will be tripled. Good job.]

  Su Lei almost fainted when he received the next message. He felt like crying when he read it. He never experienced such blessing except for today.

  Back then, Su Lei thought that Xia Meilin wasn’t good enough for his boss; especially the time where she got kidnapped. But he takes everything back now! His madam is the best! He only followed her orders and yet because of that, he has been rewarded greatly.
