It was evening and they were now in a place bustling with activity. The lively street has vendors peddling on both sides.

  The crowds were mixed with tourists and locals who were enjoying the street food that was sold by the vendors.

  Lu Yifeng never knew that such a place existed in the city. As a man who grew up in a wealthy family, this was his first time visiting such a place. His face darkened when he saw somehow some people were eating the food messily and how the food is being cooked by the vendors. How can such an unhygienic place exist?

  "Bingbing and I would come here during our college days. This is one of the favorite places we love to visit. The food here is so delicious!" Xia Meilin said, her face beaming in delight.

  "……" Lu Yifeng didn’t know what to say, how can his wife eat in such a place?

  "I hope uncle Sato is still here. He runs a small restaurant here and his apple pork ribs are one of the best on his menu!"

  Along the street, Xia Meilin couldn’t help but smile happily when she saw the restaurant. She hurriedly pulled Lu Yifeng to the place and entered it.

  "The small restaurant was owned by a Japanese man, named Sato Ken." Xia Meilin said by the time they sat on a vacant table.

  A short and young woman, wearing a waitress attire approached them. "Welcome to Sato restaurant."

  The waitress handed them the menus. Although, her calm expression changed when she turned to look at Xia Meilin. "Xiao Mei?"

  Xia Meilin couldn’t help but smile when she realized who the waitress was, "It’s nice to see you again, Chie’er."

  The innocent looking short waitress couldn’t help but lean and hug Xia Meilin in delight. "I missed you so so much!"

  Lu Yifeng watched the two in front of him. By the looks of it, he can already tell that they must be friends.

  Sato Chie was the daughter of the restaurant’s owner and she was helping her father run their small business. Her father is a Japanese man while her mother is a Chinese woman. Despite being in the same age as Xia Meilin, Chie looked like a high schooler because of her short stature and her adorable baby face.

  Chie leaned back and wiped the tears that formed on the side of her eyes. "When did you came back?"

  "Two months ago." Xia Meilin smiled. "Oh yeah, meet my husband, Lu Yifeng."

  Chie couldn’t help but admire Lu Yifeng’s handsome face when she turned to him. She never saw anyone as handsome as he is.

  "N-nice to meet you. My name is Sato Chie, I am Xiao Mei’s friend." Chie couldn’t help but feel shy as she stood in front of a handsome and majestic looking guy.

  Xia Meilin noticed the redness of Chie’s face. She noticed how her friend keeps on stealing a glance at her husband. Xia Meilin narrowed her eyes because of this, she cleared her throat to get her attention, "I want to order the usual, please add an apple pork ribs soup with it. As for my husband……"

  "I’ll have the same as her." Lu Yifeng didn’t even spare Chie a glance as he only stared at Xia Meilin who was sitting in front of him.

  Chie wasn’t able to notice how Xia Meilin’s look changed. She took the menu from them and smiled. "Okay, I’ll tell dad."

  After Chie left them, Xia Meilin turned to Lu Yifeng. "Why are you so good looking?"

  "Genes."

  Xia Meilin pursed her lips and narrowed her eyes when she heard his answer.

  Lu Yifeng held her hand and gently stroked her ring with his thumb. "I want to bring you somewhere else after this."

  She blinked a few times, "Where?"

  "It’s a surprise." He raised her hand and placed a kiss on the back of it.

  When their orders arrived, they started eating the food. Since it was almost winter, the hot soup was perfect for the cold night. Xia Meilin enjoyed the food, especially the apple dessert that she ordered after finishing the main dish.

  While she was eating the toffee apple cake, she suddenly felt her stomach acting up. Xia Meilin hurriedly went to the comfort room to puke out everything she just ate.

  Lu Yifeng was worried when he saw her rush to the comfort room.

  By the time he went and entered the women’s restroom, he saw her rinsing her mouth. She took a tissue and wiped her lips dry.

  When Xia Meilin turned, she was surprised to see Lu Yifeng standing by the door.

  "What happened?" Lu Yifeng walked towards her and touched her cheek. He furrowed his brows when he saw how pale she suddenly looked like. "Are you alright?"

  "Mm. I must have eaten too much." Although, Xia Meilin has already an idea of what may cause this. She was craving for apples and she was feeling nauseous. Because of these signs, she couldn’t help but think about the possibility of being pregnant.

  She doesn’t want to tell Lu Yifeng about this yet since she wanted to make sure she was one. But with this sudden news, Xia Meilin couldn’t help but feel excited.
