Finally, the first floor arrived. Ye Sui ran out of the elevator and searched the area, but there was no sign of Chen Shu’s figure.

The night was already deep. She didn’t know when it started raining heavily. The droplets were cold, falling on the ground with a pitter-patter.

Ye Sui hurried out, and in the dark rain, she caught a glimpse of a man. Ye Sui shouted, “Chen Shu.”

Under the eaves, it was tranquil, with only the cold rain outside the window acting as a backdrop. In silence, Ye Sui heard Chen Shu’s voice.

“The day she left, it also rained so much.”

Ye Sui looked at Chen Shu. He was staring at the rain curtain and seemed to be gazing at the past. “I always thought she would return……

“I always expected her to come back to find me, but she didn’t. She just abandoned me.”

Chen Shu’s low voice rang in the night. “She didn’t love my father. After she gave birth to me, she suffered from postpartum depression. Whenever she was unhappy, she would lock me in a dark room.

“I was scared. I banged on the door and begged her to let me out, but she ignored me and still repeated it after that……”
