  “It’s the Spectral Shaman!”


  “Fuck! Elementalists! Start focusing your fire on the road ahead. Open up a path toward the Spectral Shaman! We’ll need to kill the Shaman first! Damn it, they’ve approached us from behind too!”


  A Tier 5 warrior loudly commanded the ones around him to quickly deal with the sudden appearance of the Undead Horde while he was shoving out several Skeletal Warriors!

  Then, wave after wave of AoE magic attacks were cast upon the Undead Horde in front of the warrior…… while some specters had only started to pick up their weapons after re-spawning, they inadvertently got smashed to pieces by the players. Receiving a barrage of return cover fire from the Elementalists, some swordmasters stormed forward and surrounded the Spectral Shaman while its AoE resurrection skill was still cooling down.

  Then a rain of attacks showered down onto the poor shaman.

  “Come on, you guys could kill it quicker!”


  “Geez, it’s just a small Boss. What took you guys so long?”


  As giggles of jabs and jokes surrounded the players, the supposedly risky operation to take out an enemy stronghold had seemingly turned into a picnic trip.

  Without the Liches standing in their way, the Undead Horde in the Death Valley was not much of an obstacle for the hundreds of Tier 5 Champions and their pets.

  Looking at the other side of the valley, two powerful Liches were wailing inside the Twelve Frostramparts; when the surrounding players moved into for the kill. After being wounded by the Twelve Frostramparts and players’ combined attacks, the two Liches were eventually slain!

  There were still four Liches in the air. One of them, unable to retaliate against the Champion that it was facing alone, slowly succumbed to its imminent death.

  Perhaps, it would not take long before they were able to free the Death Valley from the Underworld Army and return it to its original state.

  “This has been easy, right guys?”


  After everyone fought the Undead Horde and stated enjoying the bask of glory, the third Lich’s long excruciating wail echoed in the Death Valley—almost like a victorious cry for the players. If news about this skirmish started to spread, especially if the other clans heard about them slaying six Liches and wiped out their stronghold, it would be an enormous bragging right! Their skirmish today would be the stuff of legends!

  A Lich fell from the sky as they were cheering on the ground. Its death would mean that the three clans would each get a share of the 800 Honor Points, and various other legendary, Dark gold gear as loot. And of course, this would also mean that a lucky clan member would finally own his or her wings……

  Everyone was excited when they thought about the loot.

  There were not many Divinities to give out to, and at this rate, it would not take much time before the more capable ones became Winged Champions themselves.

  As they thought of this prospect, morale soared as the Tier 5 players marched into the deeper parts of the valley. Like wind, they gradually increased the momentum of their advance. The Undead Horde were completely unable to hold off the three clans’ players.

  The players’ passion to advance lasted for several minutes!

  Before long, another Lich fell from the sky as the players got closer to the warp portal. Suddenly, an immensely powerful entity rose up from the portal!

  The players who were closest the portal then squealed in surprise, “Lich!!!!”


  “Shit! A Lich is warping in through the portal!”


  “.…… it’s so huge!”


  “Fuck! Red eyes?! It’s a Mutated Lich!”


  Although the fifteen Tier 5 players were very strong, they were not able to dent the Tier 6 Megaboss at the slightest. All they could do was to back away while warning the others behind.

  This Lich that appeared from the warp portal looked almost identical to the other Lichs’, save a pair of glaring red eyes that were glowing inside its hollow shadowy hood. The eyes were like a pair of fireballs illuminating at night, spooking the hell out of everyone that got near.

  As the player team was backing away, the “Lich” had locked onto one of the Radiant Priests. The Undead hated these holy-types after all……

  A ray of red light suddenly glared from the shadowy hood…… and numerous black thorny vines appeared from below the Radiant Priest and bound him in an instant. The black thorns extended and pierced through the Radiant Priest’s flesh, unaffected by the defense of his armor.

  “Arghhh!!”


  After a long excruciating scream, the Radiant Priest’s lifeless corpse fell to the ground as the black vine loosened its grip.

  Woosh woosh woosh!

  The Mutated Lich then launched three black beams at an Elementalist. This time, the beams ripped through the Elementalist’s Magic Shield in an instant—its attacks were apparently much more powerful than that of a normal Lich……

  “Oooof!”


  The Tier 5 Elementalist died the instant the beams ripped through his body. Although he owned a full set of Dark Set, the Elementalist was not as skillful as Qin Ruo and Black Rock. Besides, his magic resistance was at only about 200 points—not nearly enough to tank a single normal combo Magic attack from a Lich.

  The scent and fear of death loomed across the area, choking the rest of the surviving players. Hearing the screams of a Warrior who managed to get away earlier, they swiftly pulled themselves together and quickly leaped out of the area. They began to report in the clan chat about the situation as they fled, trying to warn the others about this.

  “Mutated Lich?!!”


  “From the warp portal? What on earth?!”


  Qin Ruo was shocked as he heard the news. Failing to aid Homme Fatale in killing off the final Lich, Qin Ruo immediately zoomed towards the warp portal with Violet Orchid, Judge and Black Rock.

  Mutated Lich!

  If this indeed was a Mutated Lich, then it would at least be a Tier 6 Elite Megaboss. Its combat prowess was unheard of, much less something that they had faced before. Still, it might be weaker than the Spawn of Hades. According to the Demigod NPCs, every Spawn of Hades possessed the same level of strength—the Divine level of strength. This Lich should be much easier than that…… and if there were no Tier 6 player appearing in the game’s server, there should still be no Divine tier Boss.

  If this was merely a Tier 6 Elite Boss…… then they might still have a winning chance.

  First, they were more in numbers while only two Liches were left. One of them was surrounded, dying, while the other was facing off Homme Fatale. Everything was still under control. Second, Violet Orchid had two of Qin Ruo’s Divine Cleansing Potions. Apart from that, they also had Movement Speed Potions and the Giant Tree Saps.

  Furthermore, they had Poochie on their side!

  If it was indeed just a Tier 6 Elite Megaboss, they should be able to handle it if they stuck together.

  As he flew close to the warp portal, Qin Ruo could see that the Mutated Lich had slaughtered five players……

  “Sis Violet, Devilite! Let’s save them first!”


  “Okay. Be careful!”


  After wishing Qin Ruo luck, Violet Orchid and Violet Devilite swooshed over to rescue the remaining survivors in the warp portal.

  As they sped towards the Mutated Lich, the Boss suddenly turned its back and faced them. A flood of Mana Shockwave suddenly burst out; and as the shockwave hit them, a swarm of Undead creatures charged towards them!

  “Damn!”


  After losing his wings to the Mana Shockwave, Qin Ruo activated his Aquamorph by reflex and formed a huge water net to cushion his fall. He didn’t think the Mutated Lich was this cunning—that it would suddenly stop chasing after its prey and then hurl an AoE magic attack at them in an instant.

  Shit!

  It was so sudden! Not expecting it to attack like this, Qin Ruo endured a direct hit.

  The worst part was that the Mutated Lich’s attack had not only stopped them from getting closer, but had also pulled them into its attack range—allowing it to attack them as they were falling from the sky. Even Qin Ruo was unable to anticipate this sudden strike. His head went blank for half a second.

  They were now in a free-fall, merely thirty meters away from the Mutated Lich. There was a light burst of Mana in the air, spreading a thin-layered scent of death in the area.

  As he was falling from the sky, Qin Ruo saw three black beams shooting out from the Mutated Lich’s body. They were fast, like lightning bolts! Naturally, the beams were headed right at him—since he was always the one who spearheaded the battles.

  The Mutated Lich’s consecutive magic attacks…… surely these would shred most of his HP away……

  As Qin Ruo started feeling that all was lost, a warm golden ray suddenly shot out of his back.

  Swoosh!

  Poochie saved his hide in the very last minute.

  Shadow Break!

  The black beams were then turned into millions of harmless Elemental particles. And Qin Ruo was able to fall downwards unharmed……

  Woosh!

  Dinosaurcerer, flapping his Skeletal Wings, zoomed above Qin Ruo and hurled three Shadow Lances at the Mutated Lich……

  Thud! Thud! Thud!

  The Mutated Lich did not bother to evade the attacks as they all landed on its barrier.

  “Fuck!”


  Dinosaurcerer was immediately pushed far away by a single magic blow from the Mutated Lich.

  “My attacks didn’t work! What the hell!”


  Dinosaurcerer cursed as he was struggling on the ground and it was apparent that the attack inflicted some negative statuses on him too. If he had not bound with the Skelewing Dragon and had his HP raised above fifteen thousand, he would have been killed by now.

  Yet, this was enough to buy Qin Ruo some time as he recollected himself on the ground.

  He quickly flung out his Magic Scroll……

  “Compressed Frost Bullets!”


  And then, he activated Liquid Form!

  Realizing that this Mutated Lich was not only intelligent but also cunning, Qin Ruo decided to not hold back anymore. In an instant, he teleported and appeared next to the Mutated Lich, aiming his Compressed Frost Bullets at point blank.

  “If you want to play rough, I’ll oblige!”


  As he shot out the bullets, Poochie struck again!

  Shadow Razors!

  And as they were bursting out their attacks at the Mutated Lich…… Mirror Cloak was activated, followed by Frozen Realm which swept across the area!
