On the way to the hospital, Jiang Fei gave Zhao Feng a phone call. He briefly explained the situation, asking Zhao Feng to call it in for him. After all, there was no way he would make it for school!

Upon arriving at the hospital, the doctors asked him a few quick questions before jogging after the stretcher that was just wheeled in — the boy lying still upon it. All of a sudden, the bustle died down, and Jiang Fei was left to sit by his lonesome in the dead silent hospital corridor.

“Hey! Do you have a minute!”

It was a medic who had stopped him back at the accident site.

“Me?” Jiang Fei looked around, making sure that it was him she wanted.

“Of course I’m calling you. The cops are here, they’d like to have a word,” she said.

“Okay!” Jiang Fei nodded. He followed the medic and got his statement recorded down. Now, he truly had nothing left to do here!

“Alright. You may go back to school. We’ll make sure to have a word in about your courageous conduct.”

All-in-all, the traffic police were rather amicable.

“Wait!” Just as Jiang Fei turned to leave, a nurse called out to him.

“Is there anything else?” Jiang Fei asked, unsure of himself.

“The patient would like to have a word with you.” said the nurse.

“Okay!” Jiang Fei nodded. Why not? He was the guy’s life savior, not the murderer of his father. He had nothing to be afraid of!

Jiang Fei followed the nurse to the ward. He heard two doctors whispering to one another.

“I still can’t wrap my head around this. According to what that student’s statement and what the police said about the car crash, nothing adds up. The guy should be in a mortuary, not operating theater. How did he walk away from that with nothing but a mild concussion and some internal organs displacement?”

“This guy is just too lucky!”

“Hmph! This bunch of second-generation tycoons just don’t know the value of life. He got away too lightly this time. He’s gonna keep doing this till it’s too late!”
……

“You wanted to see me?” Jiang Fei entered the special ward.

“Could you give us a moment, I wish to speak to him alone,” the young guy said to the nurse.

“Okay! If there’s anything, that button’s right beside you!” The nurse pointed at the buzzer and left.

“Thank you, brother! If not for you, I would have been dead!” The young guy sat up and spoke to Jiang Fei with a smile on his face.

“Haha, well, you definitely looked like a dead man!”

Jiang Fei sighed in relief. This guy had looked more like a ghost and less like a human. He had multiple broken ribs and was spitting one mouthful of blood after another. He had been mere moments from death.

“Yeah. I don’t know what you had me drink, but I do know that it saved my life! As we always say, no words can express my gratitude towards your great kindness. I’m Han Tianyu. From now on, you’re my best brother!” the teenager said most earnestly. The potion had stabilized his condition, but he still needed ample recuperation.

“Han Tianyu? Why does that sound so familiar?” muttered Jiang Fei to himself.

  Han Tianyu grinned.

“Hah, I may have shown up on television a few times. My family runs The Manda Group!”

“Holysh*t! The “Octopus Group”?” Jiang Fei’s voice unwittingly rose.

Manda Group was not some ordinary company. It was called the “Octopus Group,” because they were involved in every single industry known to mankind. From arms trade to daily necessities, from aircraft carriers to bits of threads and needles. The Manda Group took part in just about everything!

At the core of it was this Han Tianyu — the only son of the Manda Group’s owner. He could be said to be the crown prince of the entire business empire. Jiang Fei had only caught a glimpse of him on television. He would have never expected to one day save this prince’s life!

“Bang!” Right then, the ward doors were almost flung off their hinges.

“Master, are you alright?” A middle-aged man ran in, followed by eight larger, younger men. They quickly spread out into a tight, organized formation. Some guarded the entrance. Some took watch by the windows. Two of them got between Jiang Fei and Han Tianyu so swiftly and fluidly that it was hard to tell if it had been by coincidence or by design.

  “I’m not dead yet!”

Han Tianyu rolled his eyes at the theatrical entrance.

“My great young master, are you trying to frighten me to death? If anything happened to you, what should I say to the old master?!”

After seeing that Han Tianyu was fine, the middle-aged man started catching his breath, as if he had just taken part in a long marathon.

“It’s alright, Uncle Da. I’m fine. Go make the arrangements. They’ll discharge me soon enough!” said Han Tianyu, waving his hand towards the middle-aged man.

“Are you really all right? I heard the traffic police saying that the car accident scene looked like a bombsite!”

Uncle Da did not seem convinced.

“Well, thankfully I wasn’t wearing a seatbelt, so the car flung me through the windshield before the big crash. I only suffered a mild concussion!”

For some reason, Han Tianyu had omitted Jiang Fei and his Health Points potion out of the story. He had basically boiled it down to luck.

“Master, I’ll sort things out with the doctor. If everything’s all and well, we’ll get you back home in no time!” Uncle Da said.

“Okay! And send these guys out as well. I was in the middle of a private conversation with this boy!” said Han Tianyu.

“Uh…… Alright,” The thought of leaving the young master alone with a stranger did not sit well with Uncle Da, but he could a regular high school student the benefit of the doubt!

“Thank you very much!” After everyone had left, Jiang Fei nodded towards Han Tianyu.

“Ah well, I figured that you don’t want others to know that you were packing that sort of life-restoring elixir. Everyone has his own secrets. I can’t say that I’m not curious, but I’m not going to impugn on you either,” said Han Tianyu.

“Ah.” Jiang Fei gave Han Tianyu a big thumbs up. The two of them had achieved some sort of silent agreement about today’s incident. This was a tacit understanding between smart people.

“I’ve called you as my brother all day long, yet you haven’t even told me your name. Are you looking down on me?” Han Tianyu grinned.

“Whoa, listen to yourself for one moment. Who would dare look down on the prince of the Manda Group? I’m Jiang Fei!” Jiang Fei blinked.

“Cut the “prince” crap. From now on, we’re brothers. You seem to be slightly younger than me. Call me Brother Yu if you will. If not, just call me by name!” said Han Tianyu, casually waving a hand.

“Alright, Brother Yu it is!” Jiang Fei had no qualms about calling Han Tianyu a brother. Han Tianyu was already a second-year university student. He was probably four to five years older than him. It was perfectly fine to call Han Tianyu a brother!

“Alright! I won’t keep you here either. Uncle Da and the rest won’t leave us in peace for long. Find me if you have any problems. I’ll call you out to hang out when I’m better!”

Han Tianyu handed Jiang Fei his contact card with a broad grin on his face.

“Alright. I’m leaving. Drive carefully next time. If the same situation happens next time, I may not be around to save you!” Jiang Fei left the hospital. He thought nothing much of this Hua Tianyu. If anything, this was just a chance meeting. Nothing much.

“Don’t worry! There won’t be a second time!” The moment Jiang Fei left, Han Tianyu’s grin vanished. He clenched his fist. His charming mask quickly twisted into a dark, hideous visage.

“Since you’ve taken the initiative to break the rules of the game first, don’t blame me for what happens next!” Han Tianyu’s cold voice reverberated in the empty ward.
